Thinking about it, James Donaldson has to be pleased with this. He, Whitehead, Addy and Olbison all broke through round about the same time, followed by Bateman. Now, that's 5 guys going for two 2nd row spots and a LF spot. Whitehead came out firing and got noticed because of his attacking ability, however that's something that's been sadly lacking this year. Whitehead's defence has always been the weak part of his game, however that seems to have been overlooked previously due to his attacking ability as well as players around him able to cover for his deficiencies.

It's not so much a case of the Bulls not progressing as well as Whitehead might like, it's more a case of Whitehead's progression has plateaued. Perhaps he needs a change of scene to take his game to the next level. Or perhaps he'll follow Fielden's career path and never really hit previous heights after leaving Odsal.

It's a good chance for Olbison and Donaldson to get themselves some first team game time.

Their destiny is in their hands now each will want to up their game to make sure they are in the starting lineup each game.
