| Gareth Jones @garethjones25
Bradford City Rhodes says they've discussed terms with RFL about Bradford Bulls but NO formal written bid has been put in #bcafc @BBCLeeds
Certainly looks like it isn't going to be sorted imminently if the formal bid has yet to go in.

So does that mean they have not made an actual offer that supposedly was better than the Super League Europe or not.Or have they just said verbally we are willing to pay so many £'s.
This justs gets more confusing if that is possible.

| All City are bothered about is some way of getting back the lease for ODSAL to fund buying back VP from Flamingo land. Then we will be hung out to dry.
I don't see how getting in to bed with a fourth division football team is going to save us.

Yet in this the RFL are reported to have received an offer and carried out due diligence.
"A spokesman for the RFL confirmed they have received the offer and executive officers carried out 'due diligence' before making a recommendation to the board of directors."
Does this mean there are 2 offers if BCFC haven't put in a formal offer, which couldn't have undergone and scrutiny, or are the various reporters confused?
I'd assume anything on the super league site would have at least a passing connection with red hall so are they misunderstanding the offer?

Your guess is as good as mine! Once again it is as clear as extremely thick mud!

Unless theres a big sugar daddy behind this bid, a massive reduction in costs is what is needed. with a newco playing at VP with no debts paid off so championship thats a big reduction in stadium costs and players costs that should see the 2010 £3.1m cost of sales slashed to a level commensurate with the income from a core of fans. No, for me VP is not an issue, its the academy which is a part of that cost of sales that is the Bulls future, what will happen to that?
thought I posted this at 9.30, coming back from the allotment to discover not so. no doubt further and better particulars have been completely speculated about in the meantime

..... and all this underhand pillaging would be via an unconditional bid ? Really ?
Now if you'd said that City may be motivated by moving the Bulls to VP. Then they use use their collected leverage to squeeze the Council to fund the purchase of VP for both clubs from a sale of Odsal then ...... possibly.
There has to something in it for City, just like there has to be something in it for any bidder. The fact this bid is supposed to be unconditional rearding the lease suggests they have no interest in Odsal. However if the City are working with the Council and there is a bigger SV picture then I could be wrong.

Why a massive reduction? IIRC turnover from the last published accounts was about 3.9M add to which the reported losses of 1.2M means to break even we'd need about 5m based on current costs where we are spending up to the salary cap. Since costs aren't likely to rise significantly, and may even fall if we're not paying overdraft fee's, the gap may not be insurmountable. If we kept the majority of season ticket holders adding an average £50 to the price generates 500k (10000 * £50) and while there would likely be some fall off for an increased price there will be a price point that, while not covering the losses, can make it viable to cater for them in other areas.
Of course beer prices would have to go back up and since the fans asked for the reduction at one of the forums it's really our own fault.

I think the "massive reduction" was based on newco and championship rugby, though if the debts are paid off then, as I understand it, there is no need for newco or demotion - in fact we ought to get a couple of our stolen points back!

ahh that makes more sense. Maybe PH was right and it's viable going forward and the debts are the problem.

Thanks bulliac, beat me to it. My assumptions for newco and championship are of course that a sugar daddy would have come out of the woodwork a long time ago, is any sane businessperson going to commit that money for a disintegrating team playing in an expensive dump that needs a lot of money spending on it or possibly pay BMC £1M as a penalty for playing at a modern stadium?
but then there was one thought I had down the allotment, IIRC there was a post a while ago that one of the local potential sugar daddies and a fan of both bulls and banters wouldnt put money into either as it would mean putting money in the other. if its one business, that problem is removed - or their bluff is called and they are just tight fisted.

| So expressions of interest by 5pm tomorrow. They get the figures to look through with the aim of putting in a firm bid. This is scrutinized by BG and the RFL. By the time this is all done it will be the endof the season coincidentally. BG thought he was going to be off the payroll this week, but hey presto loads of expressions of interest and he does not need to sell to SLE this week.
Nice one BG and which ever friend/s are behind these 'expressions of interest'
