Tbh Ross is an average Joe type player, lower league journeyman.
It shows how far we ve fallen when we are upset by losing him.
Don't get me wrong appears a great guy and gave his best whilst here

| Would you stay with an employer that treated you like this?
I wouldn’t. Always enjoyed seeing Peltier play and he gave his best.
I reckon he’ll be really good for Doncaster.

Yeah course they did Doncaster offered him a real contract paying real terms. We offered him fresh air and good intentions along with a promise to make pension contributions that haven’t been made for 3 years.

It probably shows we have a budget and we are sticking to it. At least we are offering contacts.

Im not sure how Bradford could be offering contracts. It can't be a legally binding document when there is no way the RFL are going to sanction it so no player in their right mind would be talking to Bradford about re-neweing their contracts.

... and the masses complain that we are negative and scurrilous, and allege that we don't want the new consortium (assuming they do ever step in) to succeed.
You appear to be of a similar ilk Greg, and in all likelihood you are merely being realistic mate.
For the record we maintain that CB is a good bloke and a proven numbers man, but is we fear likely to prove to be the right man for the wrong job.

That’s what I said. We’re still in special measures so aren’t able offer anybody anything.

Also true, and far more succinct than our customary semi-rants.

| Contracts are contracts. The Rfl have no control over whether contracts are offered or not. They can only register them, or refuse to register them. Of the players who are out of contract in 5 weeks time, I assume the ones we want to keep will know the terms that are on offer once (if) Special measures are lifted. I also assume they’ll be looking to see what is on offer elsewhere. They then have a decision to make

| Its like offering a 100m winning lottery ticket to someone but telling them they will never be able to claim the winnings.

How the hell did Halifax finish mid table if some of their players are on £100m?
A less facetious example would be like saying “ we’ll be approved and out of SM beginning of next week, we’re offering £6k + win bonus part time terms. We’ll hope you’ll sign on Tuesday- think about it.

| I think I'm right in saying that all contracts go from November 1st to October 31st.
If so, then nobody is out of pocket (yet?). Ross Peltier will get paid by the Bulls on October 31st (I hope) and is then - and only then - a free agent. His next payday, if he were still to be contracted would be November 30th.
The fact that he's already agreed to take up and alternative offer can only mean one of three things
1. He was made a provisional offer by the Bulls, but Doncaster offered a better deal
2. He wasn't offered anything yet by the Bulls, so because of the uncertainty decided to take what [iwas[/i on offer
3. He was told that he wasn't going to get offered anything by the Bulls whatever happens

Actually there are considerably more possibilities than those 3. Even if offered the same or better by BB he may have decided to sign for Donny to get certainty. AC has been saying for quite a while that the SMs would be sorted soon, but as yet........
