Bit hard to say with us not being in camp but I think your comment takes away from the effort the lads had tonight.
I’ll be the first to say I don’t like the Dunning appointment. But I will say fair play to him. He’s took a side losing 4 on the bounce and helped coach a very good win against Worky and now a great win at York.
Take nothing away from the lads. The second efforts that were on show was great.
As much as the result is good it’s the performance that does it for me. I now look forward to next week against Whitehaven!

| I’m not sure I’d agree the Workington performance was ‘very good’ but certainly can’t fault tonight’s result. Can’t comment on the game because I didn’t watch it but I certainly didn’t expect them to get any points from it.
Gives a little glimmer of hope for 2023 in a season that I can’t wait to forget.

Without knowing for sure he does seem to be the unsettling influence. So much talent going to waste if that's the case.

| Great goal line defence in the second half. I thought they were scrappy scores due to the rain. Even the York end to end was off the back of a break caused after someone slipped.
Fact is we performed better on the night and deserved it. Really pleased with that.
Pauli Pauli should have been a red every day of the week- Ford’s had a hissy fit about how the refs unfairly pick on him.

| Fair play to Dunning and the squad on last nights win. We could have folded and allowed York to win the game but we showed great grit and determination to keep them out and take home the win.
Credit to MD for getting that performance out of the boys. You could see he was very proud of that performance in his post-match interview. James Ford on the other hand is delusional with his comments on Pauli. He gets pinged for stuff every week because he’s dirty begger. He plays very aggressively and when you base your game using those tactics you’re going to be a target. No sympathy for them as he should have been sent from the field for his hit earlier in the game.
We roll into the Whitehaven game confident. I hope the squad don’t fall into the trap of being complacent. Another decent performance and hopefully another win!

That's certainly the word on the street & it hopefully he has already gone..
Let's not get carried away though last night was a well grafted win with bags of effort hopefully showing green shoots of recovery.
The club is light years away from a promo push.
Think it will take more than a few of season changes of playing staff for that..

| I'd be surprised to see Patton here next year. Dunning was hardly quick to protect him after his gouging charge. Shame has the talent is there, but just looks like he doesn't have the temperament to be a regular HB anywhere.

| Other than the massive defence effort, the most pleasing aspect of the game was watching the boy Lawford's performance. Yes, he dropped a couple of catches under pressure, but he really looked comfortable slipping into the half back role. Sam Hallas didn't do too bad either, and Kear had his usual solid game at full back. But difficult to nominate a player of the match for me, as there were a few good performances. On the Patton issue - we'll now see if the catalyst of our performance problems has now departed (which i suspect could be the case)

I'm not sure where all this "unsettling influence" comes from. He has been our main attacking threat this season and his goalkicking has been ghe best in the league. I agree the gouging incident was bad but other players have had brain farts in their careers. He was helping young Lawford all game last week which was good to see so let's give the bloke a chance.

| Well well well. Watch it last night on Premier Sports. Great effort, especially in the 2nd half. Agree the big thug Pauli Pauli should have been sent to put the kettle on for that cheap shot.
Great win!

| Was good to see some genuine effort and will to win. That got us the win. If we see that kind of effort each week then you can't complain whatever the result.
As for Patton I think we're better off without him, there are a lot of rumours going around about his attitude and you do wonder if there's no smoke without fire.

What was pleasing was when York had repeated sets of six midway through the second half and the commentators saying that a try would result in the next few seconds. It was a superb effort.
We should also have been awarded a try after about 73 when the ref claimed the ball had been held-up. Looked fine to me.

That was a try any day of the week.
For one thing, once Ant Walker slides in with the ball under him, there's no way anyone is getting their hands and feet underneath the ball!

| Towards the end of that when we were keeping York at bay, I thought to myself that I'd be sad to see us lose but be incredible heartened by the sheer effort. The icing on the cake was to see us hold on for the win. That's the most hardworking and gutsy performance I've seen us have in quite a while and it's a bit of a tonic.
