| Solid win today against Hunslet in the heat. Very scrappy in the first half but we bossed them in the forwards in the second 40 mins. Great metres made by Peltier and Crossley. I also felt Green went very well. George Flanagan the pantomime villain, take a bow.

With the world cup being on the overstretched BBC didn't have anyone available from the overseas sports department to go to exotic Hunslet.
Then not one of the reporters who volunteered to go spoke any German, thus the misunderstanding with the score as reported back to the BBC.

| Enjoyed the game. The final score didn't reflect the huge amount of work and endeavour put in by Hunslet IMO. At half time, I thought it could well have ended up with a Hunslet win.
Thought Chisholm continues to look like a disinterested player, and his kicks from hand were poor. Yes, I know he's of the maverick type of half who blows hot and cold, but something just doesn't look right with him.
Good game from Hallas, the little guy worked his socks off. Also thought the game turned in Bradford's favour when Flanagan came on. Although I didn't expect today to be easy, that first half (again) shows we're still not a 80 minute team. We stepped up a gear in the second and looked like we wanted the win.

It was the time zone thing that caught them out. They didn't realise the kick off was "local time" and accidentally went off what time it was in Moscow. At 3pm in Moscow, the score was 0-0, so that's what was reported.
If only they'd paid attention to the Bulls website.

| Must say I thought it was a bit of a mixed bag performance yesterday, even allowing for the heat, which was the same for both sides. On the positive side I thought the forwards went very well indeed given the loss of Laithwaite. Green had an encouraging debut and Crossley, Peltier and Bustin did well in the heat. Flanagan was my man of the match and really made a difference when he came on. Hallas was far more effective when he played as a backrower, he’s not suited to hooker IMO, the pass he messed up for what should have been our first try said it all.
On the minus side we kicked poorly too often. It’s a narrow pitch and Chisholm’s kicks for Ryan were weighted all wrong. Chisholm didn’t have the best of games really. He missed a lot of tackles and in attack never really got a sniff. That acceleration he had prior to his injury isn’t there at the moment. He got frustrated and you could tell. The shoulder charge he put in when the game was finely balanced was lucky it wasn’t spotted by the ref. Also, while Gibson scored a couple he still runs Grant out of space too much for me.
In defence we looked shaky on the fringes. Nobody shoots out of the line thankfully but our line speed is abysmal at times and we got caught out around the ruck a few times with players being left on the ground or being slow to get back into position. Against York we will be made to pay for this. If we do go up a real improvement in defensive line speed is needed or we’ll get a very rude awakening.
Glad McNally came through ok. He played well and I think this is good for Pickersgill as he did well when he came on fresh.

Just remember that York nearly lost their version of this fixture. They also only just scraped past the Skolars this weekend, beating them by two points.
York aren't perfect either.

| I'd be interested to know what kind of side they put out this last weekend; was it their 'best' 17 or did they rest a few of the DR/ loan players, since they had an 'easy' game and there was a big game coming up next weekend?

I don't think York had any D/R players play this weekend.
