I hear that there was no tribute because someone in the club hierarchy thought Forsyth played more at York and that they should do the tribute. Sounds a bit mean spirited to me.'"
154 appearances over 6 years is what I've got - not exactly a 'bit part' player.
Disappointing from the Bulls and a bit sad, imo.

| When did they do that YR? "Like they did before" suggests they've actually charged previously, but I always assumed it was done purely out of respect.

I agree, perhaps someone on here who knows someone up there could have a word in their shell like, Colin was a great player who served us well, and there should be a mark of respect
Thompson Bridges Forsyth
Grayshon Casey
What a pack. Was it Okulicz who normally played LF, he must have been grinning from ear to ear every week playing behind that lot

There was definitely a case a year or two ago where a mention of a death didn't happen because the club wanted to charge and the requestor didn't want to pay it, but I can't remember the details. It rings a bell with me, but I can't remember if it was former player or a long time fan, or indeed any other info.
For former players it should be part and parcel, especially if they made as many appearances as he did. Poor form indeed.

We had a mix and match of loose forwards at that time if memory serves. One player who did play LF behind that great pack on and off for a couple of seasons was a player who very rarely gets a mention was Gary Hale.He was another of Peters bargain buys who I think we got on a free from Trinity or maybe Fev.

Casey was loose forward, various players played in the 2nd row with big Jeff, including Dennis Trotter, another who I think died to young. Gary Van Bellen also learnt his trade with that lot, not too bad a task, he'll I think I could have played 12 with those guys around me, and I was crap!!

GVB was only ever half the player that he looked as thought he could have been. Tall, athletic and physically, other than they were both 'big lads', Gary was quite different from his older brother Ian, 'AKA Selwyn'. Gary definitely had all the necessary physical attributes to be a top rugby player but was probably a little like the more recent Craig Kopzcac in his Bulls' days, sort of not bad, but always left you yearning for a bit more.

Yes, hard to putg your finger on it, some people refer to this element as "dog", and I know what they mean. It's not size (GVB, Karl Pryce) it's that something that somehow makes other hard men know it's not a great idea to fekk about with you (Karl Fairbank, Len Casey, 'Basil' Rathbone).
