Good to see. Half backs rarely get given an opportunity and if they do, they usually come off the bench which just handicaps them and almost forces them to rush everything to try and impress in a short space of time.
Sure many others will get an opportunity. We've been pretty lucky with injuries this year so the younger lads just need to keep impressing in U19s/Reserves.

| From what I’ve seen of Milnes in the 19s and in pre season he’s a good prospect. He’s got a good step, pace off the mark and a good short kicking game. He always seems to have time on the ball which is a good sign. He might have debuted before now but for the injury he got at Dewsbury in pre season. He copped a big hit that damaged his shoulder.
I think once he fills out a bit he will really start to progress.

| interesting couple of bits in todays T&A article with Chalmers. States that Ian Lenagan is becoming an investor at London Skolars and he expects a 'flood' of Wigan' loanees to be made available as a result.
Firstly is lenagan allowed to be involved with two clubs at the same time. I thought he was forced to sell Broncos when he took over Wigan due to conflict of interest. I'm not sure if that applies if its clubs in different divisions although IIRC Koukash was blocked from getting involved in Swinton when Salford were a division above them for that reason. I've got a feeling this was discussed when Koukash was trying to get involved with us and it was allowed as long as long as he only put money in and didn't have any control?
Secondly have Skolars announced there 19 yet? Ours came out last night but I'm not sure its actually a rule on league one that you announce squad 48 hrs before game and Chalmers mentions that we won't know who's in opposition team until just before game.

I don't think clubs themselves have to announce it in any division. They just have to submit it to the RFL, who are generally crap at publishing outside of Super League too. Certainly there are a few Championship clubs that you often don't know their 19 until you see the 17 on the teamsheet.
I have no idea if the same rules apply to League 1, but some teams (like us, Keighley, Hunslet, York) always seem to announce a 19, so one assumes the same rule applies.

| Are we really in a position to complain?
Lenegan can 'flood' as many Wigan players across as he likes, they can still only play 5 of them.
We've got 4 loan players in our squad. Go figure.

The Skolars squad has been announced on their website and includes Omari Caro and Vinny Finnigen

| Their 19 man squad includes two players on dual-reg from London Broncos and two players on loan from Toronto Wolfpack.
So they are hardly in a position to welcome a 'flood' from Wigan

| Strange thing for Chalmers to say in the press?
Not just the facts themselves but the way they are presented and the terminology used - it gives the impression of 'agendas' and I can't really imagine that is how he intended it to come across.

One of the Toronto players was released "officially" and signed for Skolars. So wouldn't count as a loan player. I forget if it was Burroughs or Ngawati. Everyone knows it's just a way of getting round the loan rules, but they definitely announced he was released to Skolars rather than loaned.
I also count three that are dual reg from the Broncos. Fleming, Davies & Butler.

Wouldn't that affect an overseas player's visa? (if one is involved)
