If it is good enough for Hull, Wigan, Huddersfield etc in RL and Saracens/Watford and London Irish/Reading in RU then it is good enough for us.
Sadly this will never happen though.'"
This is the only proper way & I agree.
A stadium fit for purpose (of both Clubs) with a capacity circa 20k+ & all the corporate ability that comes with modern stadia would benefit both clubs immensely.
Of course the question would be where to find 30>40 £M ???

| If only the one opportunity for it that will ever exist had not been vetoed by Stephen Byers 15+ years ago.

Look at burnt out clubs like Bolton Wanderers and indeed, Ste, our own Leythe. The Reebok/Makron is a fantastic place to watch football (if Barca or Real Madrid are playing there) not a bad seat in the house (barring ones close to the die hard and therefore not soon enough oik element). LSV the same though on a smaller scale. Retail parks, college (in case of LSV), pubs, hospitality suites. But it is only do-able if the local council / MPs are on board and speaking open-mindedly to corporate investors. Bradford is a city with bigger concerns than those of, albeit large towns, but surely a unifying focal point for the whole community would be an asset.
Back in my day, I think there was a business studies centre up in Manningham somewhere. Start a project there. Practical lectures, seminars and coursework. Who knows.
Ps Bolton seem to be on their uppers again, another reason why Bongser is feeling for the Bulls fans.

| I'm a stuck record but, with no disrespect to the horror of the disaster, we will never get city out of that macabre shrine so any notion of ground share can be forgotten.

And whilst they are getting the crowds they are and are reasonably successful I couldn't disagree with them. It would be the same if the boot was on the other foot.

Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

| Whilst I have empathy for your situation, and a lot of crap has been spouted on our forum by certain bulls fans, it will be a shame if you do go to the wall. 'Fax have been in your situation.
As you know we ground share , and it has caused no end of ill feeling from some FCHT fans, it is not even their ground but owned by the council.
Whatever happens keep your own ground and the history you have there. After we moved every thing seems to have gone backwards with the exception of a minor blip mid nineties.

To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

Alternatively, this could be the time to be honest and admit that tradition and good memories are not a good enough reason to stay at a completely fan un-friendly stadium.

| Being locked into staying at Odsal is the problem. We're not there because we have nice memories of it.

| Not sure how, 'locked in', we are to be honest.
There was a pay back period from the council on the original SL lease [the 'Odsal settlement' one, granted to the Caisley era management, along with a lot of cash to pay for upkeep which was spent on players] which had a clause saying we had to pay back a substantial, but graually diminishing amount, if we moved away, but this, IIRC , was due to expire in 2017 anyway. That is all several managements ago and we don't even hold that lease now anyway, if indeed it still exists - the RFL do. Our lease is with the RFL and though I've no idea on the clauses within it, I'd guess if we default we just lose the use of the ground.
In my view, where we play is much less important than the fact that we DO play, somewhere, anywhere - ground share with Toronto if necessary. Absolutely I'd like to stay at Odsal, dreaming of a big revamp until the day I die - and then my descendants can carry on dreaming till they die, but it's not going to happen, probably not until hell freezes over.

| We’ve been locked into Odsal in one form or another since Jack Bates turned down the chance to take us to Park Avenue.
If we don’t play at Odsal we’ve two other options. One we can’t afford at VP. The other at Horsfall which is only suitable for a lower tier club.
Horsfall would see us forgetting any kind of ambition and that turns me off personally. It’s a bridge too far for me.
Moving outside the city is also a red line for me too.

13554.jpg The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

According to Peter Hood from quite a few years back he said the Bradford Bulls name is a franchise one and not tied to Odsal, meaning that it could up sticks and start elsewhere like an NFL franchise! Though it would be a brave investor to go down that route!

You have to hope it never comes to that but, as a very short term expedient, it may be the only way to carry on.
