Ah I missed that. Given it's the 3rd month as reported, you'd think Ross would make a bigger issue of it. But I suppose paid late is not the same as not paid.

I'm sure Mick doesn't believe it himself, he's just passing on the info. In fact, I'd be amazed if anyone believed that with it being the third month on the trot they haven't been paid.

For what? We all KNOW the club is in dire financial straits (winding up petitions, unpaid wages, failure to qualify for playoffs etc) - the bigger surprise to me would always be if we DID have enough to pay everything on time, given the depths to which we've sunk. I keep saying similar ... but I genuinely believe some people think that if nothing bad has happened for a couple of weeks, then we must've solved all our problems and everything must be hunky dory. It's not.

And as I also keep saying, the immediate lack of cash is directly the players' responsibility anyway - for example, a 10K-15K home crowd against the Rhinos would have got everybody paid. To say nothing of the shortfall in next year's funding that losing to Featherstone has disastrously caused.

By my reckoning (and I've been fearing the worst as you all know since the Fev debacle) Green is working minor miracles to keep the wheels on the bus. Not that he gets much credit for it.

People can go on and on whingeing about late payments etc. but none of them suggest WHERE TF we are supposed to get the cash to pay them.

It's the end of October, isn't it? As most clubs start up their pre-season at the beginning of November

A contract year in Rugby league is 1st of December to 30th of November.

Two more months wages to find then before cloth cutting takes effect.

That seems a bit weird

Does that mean we'll be paying all those leaving / have already left on November 30th - yet, at the same time, there'll be a load of people involved in pre-season training with us who are being paid by other clubs...

Rod is confused. He is obsessed with being run by supporters yet a bunch of well meaning amateurs running by committee in their spare time is surely delusional.

And then he is telling us all how the model is also the Rhinos, who he says were £5m in debt but now turn a big profit. AFAIK Leeds aren't run by a supporters trust. So which is it?

Mr Studd is not confused- he just likes stirring . He 's one of the few people who is able to convey a sense of sarcastic smirking merely using his voice. His default mode seems to be cynical enjoyment of the problems other people or organisations face
I like and respect Carney- but on this occasion I don't agree. FA's post and his comments on the previous page sum up the position very well. The club needs an injection of cash not a committe of fans. If that cash doesn't arrive the best we can hope for is to struggle on with the occasional crisis .
The gap between the 3 professional divisions is widening and whilst the RFL continues with it's current funding and structural policies that gap will widen.

Clearly Rod has never been a member of an organisation that is run by committee. We all love the club on here but the different perspectives and various disagreements shows you how a supporter-run club would likely get on. It would end badly. Very badly.

Do players wages stop when the seasons over or is their salary spread over the year to receive monthly payments?
