It doesn't and shouldn't matter who plays for Dewsbury. While they are a bit better than Oldham, we should while affording them the obligatory respect etc. put them away comfortably in the end, just as we should have done every other time.

Under Smith I am a lot more confident of the prospects that we actually will do what we should.

According to the Bulls website he is a winger. I hope he gets in ahead of Williams rather than Ryan. No point in playing guys who are leaving...

Well that's three of the six that will have had a debut if he plays. With three more games left before the semi final, perhaps the other three will all get a game too? Just play one each week to give them a taste and see how they do?

If so, Brandan Wilkinson, Brandon Pickersgill and Liam Kirk should take us up to squad number 48. Unless one of them was registered with the 36 shirt earlier in the season (as that seems to have mysteriously been skipped).

It may be insignificant to us world weary cynical jaded seen it all if-its-not-a-world-club-championship-trophy-no-point-getting-excited fans, but to the foundations of our future success, next years players that have come through the academy, it would be a good start to their ascent, ticking off the first trophy celebration on their list of achievements. Even if the tea ladys tea urn is bigger and brighter than the trophy, its the hunger for more success thats more important, that will see 80 minute performances more than once a season.

This game sounds like it's been a complete debacle from a refereeing point of view. Any further insight?

Whilst I don't like to criticise the refs; I will admit to have been left very confused by a number of decisions.

Listening on the radio, it certainly sounded a poor performance from the ref. Still, we got the win so that'll do for the day

We never really got going today but had enough skill to overcome a resilient Dewsbury side. Great to stay unbeaten in the 8's as I thought this game could be a potential banana skin for the Bulls. We've also now secured the top spot for the semi finals and a home game against the fourth placed team.
