| I would also point out that nobody this season expected us to compete and beat the top 4 or top 6 clubs. We were, as supporters expecting us to beat those sides around us, or at the bottom end of the top 8 on the odd good day. We have been soundly thrashed by some of them. These were the very sides we were looking to take points from and therefore secure our survival. That's the bit that hurts. These were the must win games and we blew it big style.

| Pardon me if this has been covered somewhere else, but I've just come back from Mars. Where's Eddie Hemmings?

Don't know for sure but it's rumoured he is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.

| Oh, I guess I should discount that story of him being found in the pilot's seat of a second world war bomber parked in the sea of tranquility, then.

Was that the Sunday Sport? It was that issue or one very like it that kept me entertained walking from Bramhope to Odsal in the 1990s. Quite why my mate and I did that insane journey for a Yorkshire cup match against Bramley remains to be explained.

Eddie and Bill Arthur are both being treated for it aren't they? They were on the other day explaining why the men's health campaign was personally relevant to them both.

It may well have been, Pumpy - it was certainly one of the comics, though I think the actual [inews[/ipapers ran with it eventually.
Talking of silly journeys to rugby matches, or silly things done on journeys, reminds me of my mate and I going to Oldham, on my motorbike back in the ...ooh, late seventies or early eighties. It was a lovely day, when we set off, but the clouds rolled in as we went up into the hills and going higher, it really tipped it down. Obviously, on such a 'lovely day', we'd gone in T shirt and jeans. By the time we reached the very appropriately named Watersheddings, I can safely say the only bit of me that was dry was the bit I'd been sitting on.
For some reason, we then [idecided to pay extra to stand under cover[/i?? Naturally, as is sod's law, the monsoon stopped - and didn't resume until we were back on the bike, going home.

Ok everyone. Using the above information (on a motorbike in the 1970s etc) how old is Bulliac?

Ok, well kids today go out on motorbikes in jeans and t shirts at about 8. Was it different in the 1970s?

If he rode to Oldham and paid in to the ground aged 8 then that's vehicle theft we can all admire.

| Incidentally, for further clues, much as I can't remember much about it [since I was just a kid, and spent most of the match pulling old sauce bottles out of the tip where the Coral stand is] I must have seen legends like Joe Phillips, Jack McLean and even Trevor Foster in a Northern shirt. Well, I might if I'd pulled my head out of the tip, that is.....
