| Quote: RatedRKO "The game was lost in the forwards. Cas gained far too many yards after first contact in the tackle. No one was going for the legs so they were allowed to keep driving forward. Scruton did his best but was bound to run out of gas. Gaskell looked good but another forward is needed. Keith Mason would do a job.'"
Couldn't agree more. We need a Prop and some size in that pack ASAP otherwise we really are going to struggle this year. Ideally I'd like to see at least two recruits to that pack to give our halfbacks and outside backs a chance to compete. Mason was on radio Leeds today and reckoned he had received a phone call a couple of days ago from a club and he was hopeful of knowing whether he would have a club within the week. I got the impression he had an agreement already in place.
Disappointing to see us still self destructing and giving the opposition a leg up with our errors and ill discipline. I thought we needed 4 points from our opening 3 games so the pressure is on for Thursday night. An addition to the pack would be a huge lift going into another crucial match.
Plenty of spirit, but we need some size, quality and experience.

| We played a lot of 'dumb' rugby today. We let Castleford off the hook big time and they steamrolled us. We got bullied by their pack. Not good enough today.
Roll on Thursday.

| I think your all being to negative . Yes we made some very silly errors but we had two trys turned down and one we should have had when they pulled us back going for the ball . I think the ref made some bad calls . Also did you guys not see purtell lose the ball 3 times and not jump for a ball in the air forcing bk to run up which caused a knock on.

| I certainly wouldn't fault us for effort today - and given that it was a concern that recent events would drain morale, that isn't something that I took for granted as I arrived today.
Crucial mistakes at crucial times cost us. Inability to settle the game when we got in front, not once - but twice.
And, as others have commented, a lack of fitness was apparent. You could see the energy levels drop at 60 minutes - falling off tackles, not getting back into the defensive line etc.
Worrying that we have lost one of the games we needed to target a win, and with the possible points deduction still to work itself out....

| I didn't think Gale was that bad today. the forwards looked very tired, to me, only Scruton made any real impact. New props needed, how long until Mexico arrives? gaskell started very quiet but his influence did get better in the second half.
We need Ferguson fit for Thursday!

| My take is that Bradford got their positions well in the first half but in the attacking zone had no real organisation, leadership in plays. so were squandered. The Cas forwards did their job throughout the match which culminated in the eventual win.
I would like Manakafoa to do more for his hitting size, he's just not doing it for me at all. All in all I thought Bradford were more skilful but without the beasts hitting hard it just is not going to happen. As far as the season is over by some, what utter rubbish.
If there is something to be sorted out is the reasons why players start to get desperate under pressure and as we saw lead to Cas's tries. Wakefied next COYB

Exactly what I said to Bullseye towards the end (or he said to me - either way we agreed). Some of he criticism of Gale may be a tad unfair, given he was playing behind a pack that was clearly lightweight compared with Cas'. You could see the difference in size as the two teams came down the tunnel at half time. But that DOES sort of point to better things if we can just get some money to bring in a few more big guys. As a minimum, we should surely have Carvell's money to play with.

I agree. Backs have to be protected to work and yes as you and Bullseye discussed, that there has got to be some money spent on "credible" pack structure and weight. I am really positive about the backs, we have to have some hitters but who?

| not going lie I feel you guys we Cas was off our game today and still was 2 strong for you and you did try hard but in 4 weeks time the pitches will be different and with your squad so thin and more to leave who are you going to beat apart from London a real shame the people over the last 10 years of running this club should hold there head in shame.

Agreed. The pack as a unit looked very lightweight and when Powell ordered a more direct approach at half time, we were steamrollered. I like Sidlow but was very surprised he received the man of the match.
I saw enough in Gaskell's play to suggest he could prove an excellent signing.
I did think Diskin looked fitter and was decent in the first half.
If Ferguson is fit for Thursday that will be a bonus but we do need at least one new prop

I'm hoping that we are a lot fitter than we appeared today, just overdone the stamina work, not tapered down in time for the start of the season and will be strong at the end of the season. You've got to hope!
We need to pick up points before the injuries take their toll.

| I don't necessarily think we are unfit. It seems to me that with the lack of size we are having to work so much harder. That could be why we ran out of steam. I don't know how we afford it but a couple more props are definitely needed. Also Jarrod is a massive loss.

Adeybull can you advance on that?
Its a long season and I believe the club with its irons in the fire can and will develop.
