| When someone buys them out of admin it's going to cause a headache. Because they'll have to do two years on half the central funding divvied up between the other clubs. But if applied to 2014 will that be half of what they should get or half of what they would get including their share of Bradford's half?
If it's the later then that would mean Bradford wouldn't have been docked half as they would get a small proportion of it back in their share of London's half.
Also Bradford's half has now increased with the money they get from London. But if you recalculate the money taken from Bradford and dished out between the other clubs it changes London's sky money. Which then changes the amount taken off them and divvied up between the other clubs including Bradford! That would then in turn mean we'd have to recalculate Bradford's half and thus change London's!!!
It's mind blowing!!
Maybe we should just give it to Ken Davy and Ian Lenegan so try can swim in it like Scrouge McDuck?

| All those years of hard work by people lost in a day.
Don't you think it's strange that it's been announced at this time?

Anyway, if I've not just made that up then London dropping out of top flight could damage the entire sport.'"
I'm not suggesting that's not the case but I can't see how that's allowed.

It wouldn't surprise me. On the other hand isnt that sort of funding for development of sport, so you would have thought that it would be not just the top level but the whole structure of the sport concerned that was taken into account.
And it is development of grassroot RL in London that would eventually lead to a viable London team, hopefully the academy players will find a London club and not be lost.

| Not a good day for Rugby Football League. Feel desperately sorry for the supporters, having been through the mire ourselves. Same for Sheffield supporters, who have also seen a very tough time. Think part of the problem is that Clubs need to have a proper home which is accessible to ordinary supporters. You cannot start a good structure when everyone is on the move all the time. Hope something can be sorted. Think the RFL need to get their house in order also

| I sincerely hope the Broncos can survive this; too much effort and dedication has gone into the club over 30 odd years to just let it wither and die.
Being parochial, it would also give our enemies another 'stone' to hurl in our direction, not to mention what was said previously about the possible loss of at least some of our Sport England funding. These are dark hours for rugby league.

They rate him very highly down there, so will be interesting to see how he gets on. Along with Ant Cox, Dollapi, Caton-Brown, Dixon, Bishay, Woodburn-Hall.. But I hope they do manage to find new clubs, as they really do love the game.'"
Oscar Thomas is playing union for London Irish.

| Quote: Bully_Boxer "I wish the Broncos all the very best in what will be a very unpleasant time for their fans. Surely it is now time to let them drop out of SL to rebuild on firmer foundations and laid down some proper roots?
Re any share of tv money I seem to recall we gave up 1 years (2013) but split over 2 years so I would assume we would be eligible for a share. I would rather hope that the clubs would vote to use this money on something more deserving than simply lining their own pockets this time around though.. if it comes to that.'"
The money we were denied is half of the yearly compensation of £1.2 million per year, for 2 years (ie 13 and 14) with the £600k approx being shared out to the other 13 clubs each year. So if London do go belly up, and I sincerely hope they don't!
The interesting question will be if another ex championship club took their quota, would our £600 be restored or would this new club get a full share, leaving us still with a half share?
Don't hold your breath folks!!!

| I rarely comment on RL message boards and really hope the London Broncos survive. However after tumoil at the Bulls and the punishment of -6pts, no sky money, SL status threatened and previous lenient punishments of Wakefield and Crusaders just getting -4pts deduction, the RFL need to continue with consistency and punish the Broncos the same as the Bulls to recoup some credibility. I'll hold my breath as I think special treatment will be given which is wrong. One rule for all not for the few, when the Bulls are relying on slim revenue streams, I do question where all the money is going at other clubs when they get sky money and Bulls sky money? This is a shame when we're having such a good RLWC.

There's no reason that what's going on at London should affect our losing half sky money next year. That was agreement OK made to keep SL status. If London continue in some form then they should get same punishment with money shared between other clubs, us included. If another club takes their place they should get full sky money. Although RFL have never come out and stated it the sky money deduction is to stop clubs using admin to wipe debts out with no comeback. I think Blake solly actually said in an interview that any club entering admin between now and restructure at end of next year would automatically not be eligible for SL1 .Hence why wakefield didn't go down that route this year, despite glover setting up a new holding company in preparation for doing exactly that. Be interesting to see if that is applied to London if they do actually enter admin.

| Whilst I was not trying to create debate around the situation London are in, I sincerely hope they do survive for the good of the game. I wanted to point out that young players had been released and were at present without a club, with no certainty that London would survive. I note Mike Bishay has confirmed he is leaving.
On topic of London and Sky money - I do not care about the sky money hypothetical debate we need the presence and I think the RFL should take control fully and sort out the mess. we need the presence and we could do with an NRL link up to send juniors similiar to what they used to do and poach a few union players to drum up some interest. I dont know the ins and outs but merely pointing to a different strategy and funding process with them. The franchise system rather than P and R would have suited this better but it is what it is...

If they go in now, at this late stage and without any time to prepare it may well be a nightmare rather than a dream, I'm afraid.
