| If the Giants don't think he's good enough to have in reserve to Murphy & McGillvary, he's clearly lacking something.
Last night did him no favours. Would have expected him to expend every last bit of effort & leave the field exhausted in trying to impress his new club's fans.

| He looked like he didn't want to be there TBH.
Obviously his confidence has been shot which happens. Look at Scruton last year when his head had gone down.
For me he's not really a centre, think he is a decent winger though. I would rather have Blythe, Purtell and Foster at centre. Hopefully we'll have someone liked up though.
But I'd like George on Wing. Pace and can score tries (as proved last season)

| I can see George being used pretty similar to how he is or was at the Giants, as a decent player to slot in as back up. He will be hard pushed to displace Foster or Kear just as he was hard pushed to get into the Giants line up but when the inevitable injuries start up next year instead of it being the same as this year and telling the lads you have to just play anyway we can hopefully give them time to recover and have someone decent to come in and do a job too

Does he? When, exactly? I mean, he used to, I know, cos I've seen it, but at the moment?
His defence was crap yesterday, but I was actually quite shocked at his obvious sluggishness. Given we are signing him I paid particular attention to his game, and have to say he was gash.
The worst effort was the Sammut interception. George was the nearest man, when he turned to chase, Sammut had about 5 yards start, but George first of all never made any impression on Sammut at all, and then, when he saw he was losing ground, he veered off to his left, as if he was covering someone else. He looked worryingly slow there. Sammut is no slouch but he shouldn't be able to beat our winger for pace by a mile.
Oh well. We have the close season to work on him and replace some pork with some fast twitch muscle, I suppose. But at the moment he ain't lookin like no speedy winger to me.
I'd also shave his head, as that afro must be acting like a Space Shuttle wind brake, and he doesn't have the luxury of not needing the streamlining at this point.

| My only issue with Luke George at the moment I was imagining him in a Bulls shirt and I began to remember Rikki Sheriffe. I think he needs a new hairstyle before pulling on a Bulls shirt!!

You are right and do ya know what he is lacking?
He is lacking being a winger in the team that are the League Leaders, yup that's what he is lacking.
He wasn't gonna get in the Giants team so good move for him, the better of the 2 you have got from is though is Fergy, by a country mile, really really sorry to see this fella go but we couldn't match what Bradford are gonna pay him ;-0(

Sounds like a big improvement on Foster then.

| I've seen enough of him over the years to be content with his signing.
May I just offer a comparison to George's performance on Saturday with that of Foster on his nightmare appearance for Saints at Odsal last year.

| Luke George is a good Super League winger, he is a strike weapon, very dangerous if you give him a bit of space and will do a fair bit more postive than he gives up defensively where.
He just is not a centre though he has played a few matches there for Giants, Wakey and on loan at HKR and can fill in there at a push, Keith Lulia demonstrated on Saturday that as a centre Luke will struggle against good centres if played there. He is a good winger but only an emergency centre.

| I honestly don't think FC has any intention of playing him in the centres.
Our centres next season will be Blythe, Purtell, Lulia's replacement and (as a last resort) Gaskell.

| I think he will be a decent winger. My problem with Kear is that he doesn't have that instant attack thought in his head. He hessitates and then runs sideways. I like to see wingers catch the ball and go for it in an instant before the defence have time to think. Foster is better at that as he does try and beat men on the wing. Kear to me is the one that needs to look over his shoulder now.

| I think that's just come from opposition teams watching him on their video work, so they employ a quicker umbrella defence.
It certainly seems to me that this has changed over the last few home games and he's been forced to do more crab running, much to the annoyance of the fans.
