I wouldn't be disappointed to learn we'd signed Luke - he's got good pace for a start which is something we can't always boast he used to be a decent finisher too IIRC. As quite as few have said, Jamie Foster has more hallmarks of a centre than winger so it would give us a bit more versatility in the backs.

With the best will in the world, people who genuinely have a real source, are, for rather blatantly obvious reasons, not often going to name it, now are they?

Thus whether or not a poster "names their source" is not a valid test of whether (or not) they have a source. If you had a mole from whom you learned inside info, you wouldn't betray their confidence and possibly prejudice them by revealing their identity, now would you?

There is the point that his club [imight[/i have chance chance of a better and maybe younger player in his position and so would be happy to see him off the books? He wouldn't come for less money of course, and that alone may well be enough to scupper any thoughts we have as I guess he's not on peanuts.

Yeah that is always a possibility I suppose.
Not sure how Wire stand on their non-fed/quota spots, but one hypothetical situation could be if they needed to strengthen another area of the squad and needed Hodgson's quota spot to do so.

However, I still don't see any logic in such a signing if BK is staying.

The only way I could see us signing Hodgson was if it was in part exchange for one of our own players and I can’t see Warrington being interested unless it was for Kearney as he’d be a straight swap. Then again Hodgson is as good as if not better than Kearney so why bother? I’m sure there is some negotiation going on over Blythe and Evans who I hope we keep. However with Wire set to lose Carvell and Cooper and Wood rumoured to be off too I can see them wanting to hang onto Evans. As for Blythe I think that’s more likely.
