It appears from Kearney's quotes in the League Express he believes that his current contract runs through to 2014, with his option to cancel it at the end of 2013 and return to Australia.
He is saying only that he will not take up his option. |

No need to announce a player is happy to stay when he's still contracted till the end of next year, so no fanfare needed on this occasion. |

Thats a little bit disingenuous. He's contracted to 2014 at his own option for a release after 2013 and his decision to stay is significant and newsworthy.Makes a huge statement of his commitment to the Bulls.
Why then not a great announcement from the Bulls?

The club likes to make announcements one by one in a stage managed style and always has done since I first watched them back in the 50s. I do wonder sometimes if they've really got a handle on the scope of the newer technology though.  |
