| But if L'Estrange is off FC would want to keep one experienced hooker wouldn't he?

| Langley has been a good player for a long time, however, from a business perspective the correct decision has been made. Donaldson is still a developing player, one you would hope would be a foundation piece for the Bulls when they are equipped and ready to contend again. With his age and injury record, the same probably cannot be said for Jamie, despite what a solid pro he has been.
If it's simply down to fund allocation then it's always the right move to keep the younger guy, especially when an organization is in a rebuilding phase. Hopefully some cap space would be freed up by the departure of Langley which could be put to good use in bolstering a thin squad.

Agreed. Considering what they offer to the side then that would be fair.
Wonder if FC has ever looked at the defensive stats. There's probably a few Whinos OOC though so FC will probably want to save the money for those.

| Jamie has been a great servant but I think it`s the right decision for the club to off load him now, his injuries are catching up with him. I just wish he had been more constructive with ball in hand, if he had have been he could have been thought of in the same vain as Koncrete Karl.

| Correct decision has been made RE Langley. He has been forced out of the back row due to the emergence of Bateman, Donaldson etc He is a make shift prop at the moment. With our budget so right, we can't afford our higher earner to be a make shift prop.
Everyone mentions his work rate, but in attack I always thought it hindered the team. He always seemed to take it in twice a set, hardly making a busy or producing an off load. I wish him well as he has been a good servant.
It makes good sense to spend a larger chunk of our cap on areas we desperately need to improve on, centre, half back etc.
Very very pleased to hear Donnos been offered new deal!

| i can't imagine he counts on your cap a lot or if at all, over 10 year exemption and academy exemption?

| Only a maximum 50k exemption for long service. Not sure what academy exemption your talking about is. Is it new this year?
Anyway amount he takes on salary cap isn't relevent as we aren't spending anything like the full cap. It's the amount he takes out of our player budget that matters.

| Thought he was back to his best last year but there's always been a sense he never quite became the player he looked like becoming. Maybe playing his peak years under the worst coach in SL history didn't help.
I'm 50/50 on him going now as he's not a prop and I'd sooner see Donno given the 13 shirt. On the 'keep' side the squad is looking wafer thin. Carvell and Ferguson are good signings but we need about 8.

Just like I thought life was not worth living after Nathan took his hair with him, I feel the same about Langers. But there is hope with Jamie Foster & his locks.

| It's a shame to lose Langley because when he is fit he certainly bolstered our defence up a fair bit. Not devastating with the ball in hand but always willing to put his hand up and work for the team. But as others have said, he will be a top earner and we probably aren't getting great value for money at the moment. Little bit surprised that no deal at all offered though, even a vastly reduced one.
If he does move on, then he should get a good send off from the club and supporters.

| I would have thought Langley would be just the sort of player we need to keep.
