| Quote: Roofaldo "The council didn't give away anything. They agreed a payment to the Bulls to cover the upkeep of the stadium and that the responsibility and costs of maintaining Odsal transferred from the council to the Bulls.
But you're right. The council will be left with a prime piece of real estate right on the motorway. How will they ever recoup their money from that?'"
Are they bothered, I meen it's not like ANY council to make money out of anything they sell is it? Except Hull, just put that in so HFC don't have to comment.

| Odsal everyday of the week for me. Our attendances went down while at VP and anyone who think we'd sturggle financially at Odsal, would have a reality check if we moved VP. The football club very nearly dropped out of the football league last year and if it did, probably wouldn't exist right now due to the bills their paying at VP.

groundhog day Bulliac: can you give the links to those documents, as the BMC south Bradford development plan that stated the council would allow as much development around Odsal as needed to pay for redevelopment of the stadium makes no mention of such problems. But if that is the planning deal, then they will allow as much development as is needed to cover the costs of cleansing Odsal of the pollutants that have afflicted it for many a year. hopefully both literally and metaphorically.

income 2002 VP £3561k 2010 Odsal £3956K cost of sales 2002 VP £2433K 2010 Odsal £3127K. do the sums, VP was more profitable by £300K 10 years ago, and of course we are now in 2012 which must be showing a bigger loss than 2010 otherwise we would not be in admin, so add a few more hundred thousand into that difference. So I have to ask the question, are you serious, Odsal every day of the week??? enjoy the waste tip, 7/52.

| I find it as incomprehensible that any self-confessed Bulls fan would not watch their team play in a good stadium 2 miles away as I do that a RL fan would not watch the game if their favoured team packed it in.

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.: |
|
| There are many possibilities with the double triangle of Council-Bulls-BCFC and Council-Odsal-VP.
What if the council bought VP from the owner and then made BCFC and Bulls equal 1/3 owners?
And then recouped their money from the Odsal sale?

| Well as long as we still have a club, that's the main thing.
Yes, Odsal is our spiritual home, however I think we're all in agreement that it's never going to be redeveloped, no matter what schemes are put forward.
Therefore, a move to VP, especially if both the Bulls and City are under one ownership, is a good move for the club.
The cost of upkeep at Odsal would no longer be a factor saving the club money in terms of running costs, also if we are dropped down a division, we'd get a much improved score in terms of stadia and facilities and as we'd been dropped once before we'd need all the points we can score to get back into SL.

| I don't have a problem with where we play - Odsal or Valley Parade. I love it at odsal, but also liked the few seasons we had at VP. I live within walking distance of Odsal and VP is 4 miles from home. I am grateful for the potential offer from the Bradford City men as all should be. It makes sense for us to co-exist both on ground share and also as a fan base. If they did join together more and an offer was done for dual season tickets I may consider being a City fan as well in the future. ( Can't really believe that i said that as I am an original Park Avenue Fan (giving my age away now)). Survival is what it is all about and it seems to work for Wigan, Hull, Huddersfield.

No links as such.
It was certainly discussed ad nauseum in the T&A by Councillors and local worthies at the time of the Superdome fiasco, and IIRC a figure was included in that plan for a 'clean up' of the site. I guess the need for cleaning the area depends on what use the site would put to. Assuming it isn't residential or agricultural use, the only real problem might be any chance of the disturbance causing something nasty to leech down to the water table.

wasnt our average attendance higher in 2002 than in 2012 as well though? plus sales wil include gate/season ticket income which was set at a higher level in 2002 than 2012. Surely you need to factor that in before you can make a like for like comparison?.

| thanks Bulliac. clearly theres a cost but not a deal breaker compared to some of the other outlays a bidder would need to make to get the club and stadium for redevelopment.

| thanks mat, interesting question. the focus is the gross profit, and it was £300k less in 2010 than 2002 due to an increase in sales (probably more sky and hospitality etc) of £400K but an even bigger increase in cost of sales, some of which will be players but as Caisley commented in 2002 and 2003, a big chunk of cost for odsal. If sales go down, cost of sales has follow, and that has been the difficult task. It should be possible to reduce the player costs, one of Caisleys accusations last year was poor player recruitment, and if you have a good recruiter you can task them to get the best team for a given budget and know you are getting full value even if spending less than the cap. but before you do that, the first cut surely has to stadium costs. If somebody came in with the money to buy the club and accumen to redevelop the stadium of course no question, Odsal. Big if though.
