they'll have to buy merchandise for next year irrespective. What the stock sale means is they wont have to buy a load of old stock with ex-sponsors names on which they'd then struggle to sell. reduces assets the new owners have to buy to takeover club and brings in money to reduce debts for the current operating company. win/win situation I'd have said.

But have the club paid for the stock yet?

The message i've heard is yes, it's all paid for and therefor any money they get is money to use for the running costs.

Sounds a bit desperate to me plus replacing all that stock is another "cost " to the new owners as that money will be gone. That`s if they decide to come in ,Sky sports were just suggesting otherwise.'"
You do have some weird angles on everything. All that's happening is the Bulls shop is having a big sale, and they are getting very widespread free publicity for it to boot. You've got no idea of the cost, or what they are selling at what price, so your comment is meaningless. "Desperate"? All the administrator is doing is getting in what he can, which sounds eminently sensible, but ffs haven't you heard that we are insolvent, in administration and on the brink of liquidation?
Wonder why no other business has ever thought of holding a sale? Do you think it could ever catch on?
The stock of old shirts etc is of zero value to any newco, why would they want to sell anything with oldco sponsors emblazoned on it, they'd probably rather burn it. Or did you weirdly think that the unsold stock in the shop was somehow a major factor in the negotiations?

| It's also worth bearing in mind that they always have a sale at the final home game of the season, selling off the current season shirts for a tenner - as we get a new shirt every year anyway.
All they are doing is bringing this earlier - remember, we only have three home games left - to get some cash flow now, rather than in three or four weeks when they'd normally be having the merchandise sold off.

Exactly. They dont want this years stock competing on the rails with next years stock. Even more relevent than usual in a year when we're changing suppliers. Plus it makes sense to reduce the assets of the club (particularly ones that have no value to a purchaser going forward) and hence the purchase price of the club whilst bringing in funds to pay the bills/reduce the debts.

The Facebook page says cash and cheques, though I believe that businesses pay a cheque clearing charge so cash probably gives more profit to the club.

Well, I've still got a chequebook, though I confess, I'll be damned if I know when I last used it....or even which drawer I left it in.

| I got there this morning at 9:40 and was queuing in the car park.
When i left (2 1/2 hours later) the queue was easily going back 50 yards. The Odsal car park was full!
The only stock left were either small, or XL,XXL,3XL etc. There are plenty of shirts left in all sizes (as of now) and there are plenty of kids stuff atm. Loads of extra's still available, cups, flags etc.
Was surprised at the turnout. 1 guy behind me had all his hands full of stock and had waited for 2 hours, then handed over his credit card, doh!

I understand TT is doing a cheque writing course which includes quill and ink. It was going to be in the local hall in Bingley but the cheque bounced! Lesson 1

| This may just be me but does it not seem strange that the club shop would be holding so much stock. Assuming its £50,000 worth of stock at market price (correct me if i am wrong) and on the assumption that the average peice of stock is worth say £30 then that equates to 1,666 items of stock.
Seems very high given as you say there are only three home games of the season left.
just a thought

I would think the cost of these items would have been less than half that number, and in normal circumstances seems like a reasonable level to hold, but unfortunately currently circumstances are in no way normal
