Quote: Stul "I would have thought that most players, with what they earn, could stand a month or two or mortgage payments etc.
However, that doesn't mean that all of them could and that any of them should have to.
All of the staff must put themselves first.'"
Whose to know?
When I was a student I lived off a pittence and made it through the year, when I got a low paid job I did ok, but even now at 33. At the end of the month there is less than £50 in the account.
People live to their means and when that means is taken away, the expenses still remain. Sure they may have money in a big house but that is no use unless you can access the money. Someone on JSA with a big house still only has an income of JSA.
Trying to access a loan with no job or a job under threat, well lets face it unless they can show a prospective income that's a hard negotiation with the bank.
Long term , sure they may have assets that mean they will be ok, but when they look at the bank at the end of the month with no income, it maybe a scary view.
