| Quote: Bulliac "I don't like being negative, especially now, and obviously the club will have to speak to any and every potential investor, however I do feel a bit jumpy about Mr Parkin.
Let's be honest; no-one puts money into rugby league or lower division soccer clubs expecting to get a profit from the sporting activity. The truth is that directors in these clubs generally pay through the nose for the 'privilege' and maybe the kudos, of being directors of their local team, but not the cash return.
I wonder at the motives of people who have tried to invest in a few different clubs because you normally can't be a 'fan' of more than one - go on then, I'll allow one soccer and one rugby, so let's say two. Mr Parkin seems determined to be involved with a team - and any team would seem do, it appears. It all suggests motives which are not altruistic to me.
There's nothing illegal in all this of course, people generally have the right to buy and sell shares to and from whoever is willing to trade, but that is not necessarily in the interests of the supporters of sports clubs, since if there is a determination to gain a profit it has to come from the assets; maybe players or buildings or income of various types, which may not then be ploughed back into the playing side of the business.
They have to speak to everyone, of course, and it may be there is no choice; the devil and the deep blue sea, as it were. I may be totally wrong about Mr Parkin, I hope I am, but I'm not filled with the same hope as you, I have to say.'"
Why don't you let him know that no one likes him more clearly? Why not ring him up and tell him you don't want him to invest in the club? Then we can all pack in and go watch Halifax. If he wants to invest then he should be welcomed with open arms. I don't think some people realise just what a mess the club is in. Come on board Mr Parkin; please

I didn't say no-one likes him. I said that I wasn't sure. That's me, my thoughts, and no-one elses. If you don't like my thoughts that's tough since that's what you tend to get on message boards.
Welcome to the board, btw!

| Well he's doing alright for Guiseley,he's investing in both the team and infrastructure, with little promise of profit but plenty of success on the horizon,I personally think he would be a great asset to the Bulls.

| If there ARE interested parties out there, I can see that over the next few days we will see them setting the scenes and promoting their cases by proxy across the social media. We saw that at Wakey, and I'm sure that Wakey was no exception.

I wouldn't necessarily welcome just anybody. I'm pretty sure many Glasgow Rangers fans welcomed Craig Whyte with open arms and look what happened there. As has been said, owners of Rugby League Clubs lose money (average losses are £600k per year), so it seems you'd have to be a fan to invest - is Steve Parkin really a Bulls' fan?

| Interestingly, Peter hood has just been on Radio Leeds and said, "If there are people interested in investing in the Bulls, they're not forming a queue at the door".
If there is one thing which I feel is pretty certain it's that [iall[/i the required money isn't going to come from everyday fans such as myself, and I guess the majority of others, on here.

| For sure.
Difference, of course, between someone interested in "investing" in an existing spiorts club, and someone interested in buying the assets (such as they are) off an administrator.

Correct. It'd be the same difference as between 'buying' and 'giving'.

| Can't see much of a problem with Mr Parkin if you compare him to our largest shareholder who sems to spend most of his time selling our best youngsters to Australia

| Compare you to us last year. Why would Parkin want to invest now? It will cost him a million quid and he will be stuck with the existing management structure. Do you think Glover at our place would have handed over half a million just so Ted Richardson could stay in charge? No, if he is going to invest, he will let you go into administration, get you for next to nothing, sweep away all the old debts, and put his own people in charge, like Glover did. And we are all the better for it.
My own suspicion is that Parkin is keeping an eye on Wakey in case our stadium gets the go ahead (we will know within two months), as then he can have his football team playing out of a brand new stadium.

| Couldn't agree more, any serious investor/business person will just do a deal with the Administrator!
The quest is simply delaying the inevitable, Hood himself says SL clubs are basically not solvent and without long term investment we'll be here again in a year
If you analyse our recent trading history we've needed a player sale or loan every year for the last 5 or 6, so I don't know who Hood thinks he's been kidding and my continued criticism of this regime over the years looks justified!
Hood says investors aren't queuing up, no poo Sherlock, you've just advertised a fire sale and you're on the bonfire! The blokes a clown, really! Theyll be queuing up a plenty when KPMG are called in
