| It's hard to know what to say about today really
I don't think it was 'lack of effort', but obviously you need more than effort to win many games. It's one thing going to Castleford and putting in a heroic 100% effort and getting a win, but that simply doesn't cut it against a team like Wigan does it...?
The harsh truth is that Wigan beat us at something of a canter. They bombed a few goal kicks and clearly eased off at times. They could have had 70 if they'd been bothered enough to keep their foot hard down for the full 80 minutes.
In the end I was pleased to 'get away' with 54, which tells its own story about where we are as a club at the moment

| We could always try tackling, not kicking penalties to touch, not kicking the ball straight to the full back every time, not just running straight up the middle for 4 tackles, etc, etc.
But some on here seem to think they did ok today, and tried hard. Must have been watching a different team to me.

| On paper our squad is not that bad, i think its time for Potter and his conditioner to go, before the season is over. Bring back Nobby.

| Quote: Nothus "You can't look at the performances from the likes of Koppy, Langley and Walker and say they weren't trying. Langley never stopped today.
The difference is in the quality of players, simple as that. They have world class players and internationals, we don't.'"
Absolutely agree, we lack the star quality to compete with the likes of Wire & Wigan.
There were some tries scored today that were pretty undefendable to be fair to the Bulls. There were also some soft tries that were not excusable and we need to tighten up our defence if we expect to make the 8. Kear had a bit of a mare defending against Pat Richards. Before the game I worried about having 2 new centres defending out wide and my fears were realised. We simply cannot cope with teams running at our line at pace outwide. Everytime Wigan went wide they seem to have numbers and we were stretched.
Not making touch from a penalty is now becoming a bit of a joke with the Bulls. Twice again today from Sammut, ffs just tap the bloody ball if we're near the centre of the pitch. It is embarrassing. Not quite as embarrassing as the stupid trumpet or whatever it is they play over the speakers after every kick off. When we're getting a tonking at home.. it really isn't amusing or entertaining. Somebody at the club do us all a favour and bin it.. PLEASE!
Losing Gale is a real sickener, I just hope it's a case of weeks out rather than months or even the entire season.

| Second half an absolute joke! Gonna sound like a broken record but to put it simply we are a laughing stock. Don"t expect us to win every week but when we simply can"t even compete with another super league team at home its a complete disgrace, especially seen as we are supposedly spending the salary cap limit. In the second half we were championship quality at best. Hope to god Gale not out long term or our season will be over before its begun!

| The squad on paper seems an improvement on recent years but some people think that display showed effort? Ermmmmmmm well maybe we can just stroll through the rest of the season like that and hope not to bump into any "Internationals" or "World class players"
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wait i forgot the league is absolute full of them

| If Gale has got a season ending injury then we might as well write the season off.

| Not good enough, end of story. For the first 15 minutes we coped with it but a collection of things went wrong (Gale's injury & Sammut's kicking/dropped ball) in the space of 10 minutes which set the scene for the rest of the game.
The most important 10 minute period of the game was immediately after half time where we really could have pulled our way back into the game but Wigan came out and scored 3 tries in 8 minutes and the game was dead.
Big performance next week against Wakefield. 50% win rate after 4 games isn't too bad and it's something we should be aiming for.

Is it really? Let's hope all other teams and coaches in the league are happy with 50% as well then. In that case, lets rest the first choice team for the big games, and play the kids.

They won 13 of the their 27 Super League games (losing 13 and drew 1) which gave them a 50% win rate.

| I'm sorry but that was an absolute disgrace!
If (and this is what we are lead to believe by the club) we are spending the salary cap then it's completely inexcusable to not have a squad capable of competing. By stating that we are spending the same money as the top clubs it's self admission that they are incompetent at that place because they are over paying rubbish.
Some of those forwards today don't even deserve the title of sportsman never mind professional sportsman!

| yes, important to set it into context. as long as we beat the sides we have to, and pinch a few points against the top 6 teams, fine. Potter will be judged by where we are half way through the season, and I would hope for 6 wins or the equivalent at that point, and the pack looking a bit stronger for the second half.

I couldn't care less what our win ratio ends up as or if we make the play offs - stats or anything else. I simply don't expect to go to my team's home ground and walk out embarrassed which is what happened today. The mexican trumpet at each kick off really caps it off TBH. The Wigan fans were laughing at us and rightfully so.

| Practice game for Wigan.
Bradford are a disgrace to themselves and paying public.
I had more fun watching Bullboy take the P out of the linesman.

Right, lets rest the first choice players then in the games against the top 6.
