| We need some toughness in the pack, because it's our most obvious weakness. I'd be tempted to bring in Joseph as he seems to have some enthusiasm that others seem to lack. I'd drop Scruton or Hargreaves for him as neither offered anything of note.

| I certainly wouldn't go running around making wholesale changes after one game, unsatisfactory as it was. It was big change round in personnel and it will take a bit of time to bed in.
Obviously it depends on who is fit before you can think about next week. I can't see young Bateman coming back from that in a hurry and there may well be other, less obvious, injuries showing up also. I guess Elliott Whitehead will come in for him and I'd think about bringing Phil Joseph into the side, maybe for Hargreaves. With a bit of luck, maybe his enthusiasm will rub off onto everyone else.
Whilst it's really far too early to be making predictions I'd agree that the Cas game is possibly more important as I'd expect them to be around the same area of the table as us come the business end. They looked a good side at the weekend though, and fair enough it was only the 'new boys' but they dug in and ground it out, which is what I suspect we may have to do, if we want the points next Sunday.

| 1. Kearney
2. Purtell - Never a centre in a million years, think the ball was glued to his hands yesterday.
3. Karl Pryce - if fit
4. Lulia - if fit
5. Kear
6. Sammut - He looked dangerous everytime he got ball and defended pretty well too
7. Gale
8. Kopczak
9. Diskin
10. Scruton - Did sweet FA against Catalans, but i'd like to give him a run in the team as he may take sometime getting back into the swing of things before last seasons injuries. Before last seaosn he was on of our best props.
11. Whitehead
12. Walker
13. Donaldson
14. L'estrange
15. Burgess - Needs to get fitter
16. Joseph
17. Addy
Think a few first teamers need a reality check and need to realise they need to earn a spot in the team.
I hope to god Potter gives a run of games for Sammut & Gale to gel. Hopefully they could become a decent partnership. Unlike last year when he chopped and change our half backs everyweek.

Eh? He was one of our stand out players, defended really well, and put his winger in for a try. His offload in the centre of the field is also what led to Langley's try. What more do you want ffs?

| From what I have read and seen of the tries you conceded, you're going to have to improve the defence at marker quite considerabely. With Milner and Clark playing at hooker this year, we have speed, sharpness and brains at the play-the-ball that give us momentum going forwards, allowing Chase the room to do his stuff and get the backs (particularly Owen from deep) into the line whilst the defence is still trying to get organised. It seems that Millward is also playing both Milner and Clark together during the last 20, when defences are tired, for that forward momentum near the end.
Stop Milner and Clark from dummy-half and you restrict the space that Chase has to work with, nullifying most our our attacking threat. Simple (on paper).

If the Cas forwards get on top, then that is exactly what will happen. However, I think even you can agree that your pack isn't anywhere near as big and aggressive as Catalans. It will still be a tough test, but I would consider the game against Cas to be a more evenly matched affair than last week was.

| I don't think many packs are as big and aggressive as Catalans.
However what Millward has obviously worked on is the speed of the player getting up and playing the ball, thus giving Clark and Milner the opportunity to run at the markers who are still trying to get square.
The unusual thing is that it's not the size and aggressiveness of our props that are providing our go-forward, it's the speed of our hookers. Our forwards seem to have been told to accept the tackle quickly to get this momentum, and it's a clever tactic in my opinion.

This is exactly what he coached at St Helens and it causes absolute havoc. If you're not chasing shadows, you're giving away penalties. It's one of the reasons why grapple tackles and wrestling have entered the game. Could well be a penalty-fest on Sunday.

| It's ok though, we are 30% fitter, so will be back well in time to stop any quick ptb.
