Sykes was awesome today, as was each and every one of the guys...very satisfying performance...i was particularly pleased when he took over the goal kicking as i dont rate Ah Van and maybe he can now concentrate on his positional play without worrying about kicking..

why? did you see where sykes played well today or are you just going on tradition and criticising him for sake of it?

Sykes was good today in his best position. The issue he's had is consistency and until he does it week in week out it's fair criticism.

Not sure how you can "not rate" Ah Van's goal kicking. With general play, fair enough there's plenty of pros and cons in all areas of any player's performance to debate, but kicking goals? That has to be a totally objective decision surely, and to bring it down to basics they either go over or they don't. Paddy's success rate is fairly impressive, so far as I can see.

ah vans kicking percentage is currently 78.09% (82 goals from 105 attempts). Doesnt seem too bad an average to me. would be interested to see equivalent figure for other teams kickers, would give us a better idea how good or bad it really is. Think ah vans biggest problem seems to be he tends to miss the easier kicks under the posts which stick in peoples memory more.

Not at all. He may well have had a good game. That is about 1 in how many??? I think it takes a bit more than one good game to "silence the critics."

He had a great game yesterday I'm very happy for him. BUT. Sykes is one of the Best? lets not forget the other pi$$ poor performances he has put out at Centre. His line running is not amazing i think you are a bit caught up in the moment. I hope he continues this form which i doubt he will to the other day's high standard but one can dream. Lets not get carried away lads. I know the saying is " Only as good as your last match" but lets keep grounded as we seem to not be able to cope with euphoria and consistent performances at the same time.

Ah Van looked like he had slightly pulled his groin during the lead up to the try, the only reason i could see why he didn't kick for rest of the game, Ah Van might look like hes kicking in his carpet slippers but hes still the best goal kicker at the club and one of the best in the league % wise!

I meant one of the best we have got. And he's always running great lines, not always the right ones but great lines.

Not bad going for first season here. Big and better things expected from Mr Ah Van next year.

Surely the Bulls haven't given him a new deal? Is he really the best that is out there?

And Brough and Richards were out for a long time so they will have had less attempts, gale hasn't attempted as ,many as Ah Van either.
