I think you're right TT, I'm mixing him up with the other bloke who used to play for Cas years ago, but I've forgotten his name. A long time back I used to listen to Radio Leeds when coming home from games but haven't done so for quite a while now and my memory isn't what it was  |

Never listen during games, I'm pretty much invariably there anyway  . Back in the day when all games were played on Sunday I used to listen to Radio Leeds whilst walking to the ground for the build up, and on the way back for the results from other games and interviews etc, "here in the Odsal mudbath" ( which Radio Leeds continued to go on about for thirty years after it dried up) and all that. Most of the guys doing the commentary were ex-pros, like the one I've forgotten who used to do the Cas matches.

That's the boyo! He used to favour Cas a bit in the commentaries, just like most of the Radio Leeds people he was a teensy bit biased for his old team. Not David Doyle Davidson biased, there's only one DDD, but just a bit, for instance, Cas only ever conceeded due to an 'ever so unfortunate bounce' or a decision that was 'a bit harsh' and, of course 'Classy Cas couldn't play in the Odsal mudbath'.
We were never fortunate enough to have an ex-player with the skillset to do commentaries; it would have been great to have someone favouring us, but I guess our ex-players had to much um, err and yer knor worra mean.......if yer knor warra mean! |
