It has to be a worry, but just as much of a worry is the lack of concentration in the final stages of a game. To be fair though in both the games mentioned we have picked up injuries early in the game and played with a depleted bench which obviously hasn't helped.

I think one is related to the other. Knew as soon as Walker went off early we'd tire. Same as against Leeds you can't play nearly all game a man down at not show it at the end of the game.
Glad for the win but it was so scrapy, we were lucky Crusaders were coughing up as much ball as us.

| 2 points is 2 points as Kearney said at the end. We did look tired towards the end but match fitness will come I'm sure. The last two tries were very suspect. Benefit of the doubt is a stupid rule. Anything could have happened inside that mass of players!
Let's hope the 3 injuries aren't too bad! Was good to see Stranger walking at the end but I'm sure he'll be at least a week.
Bring Herbert and maybe Langley back next week and we will take two points off wakey!

| Really pleased with tonights result, good to see us get a win! Ainscough's try was absolutely quality, great to see us keep the ball alive like that.
A bit annoyed at how we let them come back into the game but we managed to hold on and take the two points!
Roll on next week

| Can't understand why Kearney got MOTM tonight on Sky. Diskin coming on was a game changer yet Kearney, who was very one dimensional get the nod.

| A win's a win after two defeats.
Potter must be doing his nut at our completion rates at times. There were periods where we just coughed the ball up early on or gave away soft penalties late in the tackle count which will mean a roasting for one or two in the video review.
Whitehead is a great talent but he's appearing to be missing quite a few tackles and forcing silly passes in the wrong areas. Might just need a slight kick up the back side to remind him of the basics.
Platt was superb. Ainscough had a decent first game. Hargreaves is another workhorse like Lynch who had more like his usual game today. Still wish Koppy would do more. Potter seems to like 4 props and Crossley and Burgess not considered ready at the looks of it so he's not under the same pressure for his place as some others.
Addy had a bit of a mare probably trying too hard if anything. On the other side Olbison didn't look out of place and went ok.
We moved the ball better this week, probably thanks to the quality of the opposition.
We'll need Herbert back next week if just as an extra body. Pat, Chev and Heath will all be out or very doubtful at best. Sibbit likely to get another run next week.

Losing players to injury always going to cause teams to run out of steam late on. Not sure your point is valid tbh. Walkers biggest loss but means ah van to centre and big chance for ainscough so not necessarily a bad thing. Diskin capable of doing 80 mins and o'brien champing at bit so not too worried about l'estranges injury. Points in bag which is all that counts at this stage tbh.

| Ainscough was great today, even under the high ball - surprisingly. Kearney is trying too hard to do too much for me, and we should just leave Royston as FB and let Kearney play half back for the moment. Platt was excellent and often made more metres in the centre of the field than Koppy, who was awful - slow, predictable and no aggression or dynamism. Addy was also poor, whilst Olbison and Whitehead both showed up well - Whitehead would make less mistakes if he didn't have to cover for missed tackles by others - most of whom go far too high -Scruton particularly.
Raynor did well, Lynch and Hargreaves were both full of effort and determinism, as were l'Estrange and Diskin. Elima was ok, put in a couple of hits but isn't the threat running wide I'd have expected, but it's early days and with two half backs we'll be a lot better. It's an obvious thing to say but I think we're really missing Briggs/Herbert.
The worries for me are the mistakes, lack of organisation at half back (to be expected) and the propensity for forwards to offload either when they're in their own half, or it's low in the tackle count and we need to keep hold of the ball to avoid the other team getting momentum. Having said that our scramble defense was better today and the introduction of genuine pace has begun to make us a threat from deeper positions, something we've lacked for a long time. I'm still amazed how the referees seem to get caught up in the momentum of a match. However, a better team than Crusaders and one who held on to the ball would have caught us up in the last 15 mins. Makes me realise the Leeds result wasn't the outcome of poor refereeing alone!

| Injuries are the main concern. Chev Walker just tweeted "serves me right for poor technique" (tidied up a little bit ). Ainscough played well and should keep his place(even although injuries dictate he has to keep his place). Addy tried too hard but that shouldn't be held against him. Jon Wells is the best of the commentators and should be given more responsibility.

I have to disagree Mat (that doesn't happen very often) and say that L'Estranges injury is a massive blow and will have a much bigger impact than Walker. L'Estrange was our most consistent player last year and he's picked up where he left off this year. The centre/winger partnerships looked better without Walker and the thought of another youngster coming in to cover L'Estrange is a scary prospect.

Well not really, Vinny Finnigan is still to make a start this season and Halley is yet to come back from injury so Ainscough isn't guaranteed a spot.
Feel sorry for Chev, hope it's not too serious an injury as the poor guy has missed too much of his career due to unfortunate circumstances.
