Quote: chpntpsr "Walker could be the most unpopular new signing ever if he ruins the Orford deal,'"

Suspect if his argument DID win out (pray that it does not...) then his agent will more likely seek damages for breach of contract than to enforce specific performance of the contract. The wording in the report sort of suggests that "...until Chris Walker's situation is resolved I can't see how they can sign Matt Orford..." and anyway, would you want to play for a club who did not ultimately want you?

But lets hope there is no contract and this goes no further.

the wording of the report also SUGGESTS he actually signed a contract with us in AUGUST - although that might be clever wording, and he might have rejected a Titans contract in August "...to sign for Bradford" rather than "...and signed for Bradford".

But its all speculation right now.

Now I understand what Macca meant when he said he had a few balls in the air. Sounds like the balls were multiple contracts being sent to Australasia. Now I just hope we avoid a big balls-up!

From the other thread on Walker...

Quote: contracts... were secure "
But Walker's manager Chris Orr said he last spoke to the club on Friday and was assured the contracts of both Walker and another of his clients, former Sharks fullback Brett Kearney, were secure. '"

The wording is strange "contracts... were secure" - I can't make my mind up if that means that there is a contract or the offer of a contract?

Of course, it may be that someone has a view on the likelihood of Walker getting a visa?

Didn't Walker turn out for Scotland a while back? Perhaps he's being dequotered?

When I read this yesterday I had the sneaking feeling that it might lead to more contract related trouble. Have Bradford learnt anything from the Harris saga? It looks like the Bulls are desperate to sign 'marquee' players, presumably to draw in the punter as well as improve the quality on the field. That said I'd be surprised if this amounts to anything more than a storm in a teacup.

But has Walker done anything that could stop him from getting a visa?

Uh oh!

If players this year were stopped from taking up offers with Superleague clubs for traffic offences, I'd say Walker might be in a spot of bother for being charged with assaulting police icon_confused.gif

reading the article it states "bulls decided against signing" which in my eyes suggested Walker may have signed but Bulls havent...therefor unfortunately Mr Walker Tough titties...both parties ahave to sign a biniding agreement before its binding, involving the RFL over here wont help your case now will it...

Hands up who has already got Orford printed on the back of there new home shirt? icon_lol.gif

I don't think there is much to worry about tbh. It doesn't sound as if contracts have been signed and its just a natural 'up in arms' reaction from the Walker party.

It was never going to be straightforward was it? That would be too much to ask....

Given that the only side of the story on offer is that of Chris Walker's agent, I shall not be reading too much into this at this point.

Next thing you know, we'll be accused of having "cohersed" Orford into signing... icon_eek.gif
