| Jack Kitching was born in Bradford, first represented Yorkshire at RU with Bradford RU before seeing the light. Toured on the famous Indomitable tour of '46 and was involved in the notorious biting incident in the first test. Played in Northern's three Challenge \cup finals, a very strong running centrewho was quality, how we could do with him now.

I was thinking about the team of my Dad's era. I had ruled out: Davies, Whitcombe, Foster, Edwards & Radford (Welsh); Philips, MacLean, Hawes & Seddon (Kiwis); the Wards (Shaw Cross); Traill (Cumbria); Batten (Hunslet?); Carmichael (Hull?); and Winnard (St. Helens). It didn't leave many to consider, so I'm glad to hear that Kitching actually was Bradfordian.

Pretty sure he was a coper of some description, might have to row back on just how big a wig he ended up though.

I'm sure he used to go to my dentist in Baildon, and the dentist said he was from Windhill

| Jack Kitching was a schoolteacher in Bradford, following his retirement from Northern he moved up to Cumbria, where he was involved in coaching, Whitehaven I believe, and I also informed he dabbled in politics. Served in the Royal Navy during the war as an officer, and was torpedoed, spending four hours in the Irish sea before being rescued. Them was assigned to convoy duties in the med guarding convoys to Malta, hardly a safe posting.

You calling my late granddad a liar? For shame.

Pretty sure that Diabira was from Hull (with an Algerian-French father!). I also thought that David Hill was from Halifax, though I'm less sure. Joe Pitts was definitely Bradfordian, though. Also, did his brother John ever actually play for the first team?

| If Mumby was not born in Bradford it is a pretty limited & ordinary bunch. Very surprising when you think of other productive areas close by.
