LEEDS RHINOS - HISTORY MAKERS-2007, 2008 and 2009 Champions
[quote="TheOtherOne":7qqvi4ts]Leeds are still the best team in the competition so if we do have to play them I would hope it's at Knowsley Road with home advantage giving us a chance to knock them out. If somehow we end up playing them at Old Trafford I can only see one outcome

I haven't looked at the league table after this week's games yet.

| Would need to win every game but one to be likely to make it. Every game but two to have any chance. Not got a bad fixture list but it doesn't look likely now.

It's mathematically possible, but realistically very very unlikely. Bradford are 7 points behind Warrington & Cas (8th & 9th places) with a game in hand, and (I think??) 8 games left. With more teams than usual having a lot to play for over the next couple of months due to the playoffs being expanded to 8 teams, they are going to have to win pretty much every game. They still have to go to Huddesfield, and have Wigan up next at home, both of these are going to be tough games. The rest look a lot more winable, but then again, so have many games so far this season which haven't been won. Last week's loss to Cas was the killer in my opinion.

20201.jpg "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league." - Graham Lowe (1995):20201.jpg |

| If I remember correctly initial criticism of McN was met with 'give him time to put his own team together', well he has put a team together and in any other season it's one that would be relegated, but of course now the spin is wait until he puts [ianother[/i team together built around the future which is all about youth.
To add insult to injury he's also overseen the worst collapse by a team in SL and in the CC, bred a lack of confidence in defense which is contagious amongst even previously experienced players and has admitted on a number of occasions he has no idea how to fix it.
I admire the sheer persistence of those defending him, but the evidence is now so overwhelmingly that he is out of his depth that the club must act.

| Poor performance, plagued with unforced errors and in the second half our defence was bad again. It will be a miracle if we scrape the play-offs now.

| It was a pretty average performance. I'd actually say the scoreline flattered HKR really, but some of our defence is just shocking. The first try conceded was a joke.
Their heads looked down in second half.
Pretty annoyed but it's become the norm.

| We're a mess right now.
It was much of the same once again, we got into good positions and then blew it. And if we weren't doing that then we were making unforced errors and gifting the opposition chances.
Godwin was on radio Leeds on the way home and said that the team had decided to go out fighting for the rest of the year. If today was them giving it absolutely everything and fighting until the end then we won't win many more games this year. Sorry but it all still look a little bit 95% from a few out there today. We had some big efforts individually but I still don't see that team spirit that is apparently so strong.
My only hope for the rest of the year is that we now see some of the under performers dropped. We only have pride left to play for this year now..

| I don't know what to say really. The first half I really think we played pretty well, bombed a few chances. Second half - wtf? Even the most basic of things seemed beyond the team - catching, passing, tackling. Whatever Mac is saying at half time seems to do the job....
....for the opposition.
It's still pretty painful to watch, but at least thats the playoffs gone so one less to endure.
Three more points:
1. Ian Smith - what was he on today? Some more eccentric decisions and I'd like to see that (cynical?) late hit on Deacs again.
2. £20? £20? What's that all about? It's a good job it didn't rain.
and
3. FOOORRRRRRRRRWWWWWWWWAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDD.
Embarrassing.

| I'm not sure which sites are the best so I've copied here a posting which I made on the Bulls Forum:
At what point are we, the fans, going to say "enough" and really start to make our feelings known? I have followed Bradford since the 1950s and have seen bad times and good times. I understand the financial imperatives at play, I understand the problems with injuries, I understand that the players are not performing at their best BUT, I have spent a lifetime as a senior manager and I can recognise without any shadow of doubt when the problem in an organisation is management. I'm sure that Steve McNamara is a superb operational second-in-command but the skills needed to be a good operational coach are completely different from the analytical, strategic skills needed to be a Head Coach, motivator and tactician. Sadly Mr M does not have these skills. I understand that Peter Hood is a businessman and has worked hard to get the club into good financial shape BUT there is no point having money in the bank if we have no fans left, no sponsors left and face leaving Super League within a few years. Season ticket sales for 2010 will be dire. This is money up-front which can be invested for the season. Without it we'll be playing catch-up all next season.
We must do something now to get the club back on to a firm footing. We need a new coach with good analytical and tactical skills who can watch each game unfold, assess the opposition on the day, have a running game plan which can be transmitted and actioned swiftly as the game unfolds. Half-time talks should see a coach with a clear plan to tackle the inadequacies exposed in the first half, taking account of the oppostion on the day, the weather conditions, the referee's particular predilections that day, the lighting, the wind direction etc etc. Does anyone on the terraces really think on present showing that our coach has the ability to do this? Sadly he clearly has not. If he did then we would see the result after half-time as tactics were changed to bring us back into the game by exposing weaknesses in the other side and closing loopholes in our own.
I shall miss the Wigan game (first one missed for a long time) due to other commitments but will be at every other home game. Will the rest of the fan base do something - anything - to stop this rot? A sit-down protest? An organised delegation? A petition? I don't know what is the best way forward but I do know that we must do something.

Your only saying that because they beat you.
Seriously though, it seems as though Bradford need a good clearout from top to bottom, but this won't bring instant success. It will take time, and Bradford fans should be thankful that the franchise allows this.

No, I don't think so. The one I saw gave everything the KR fans told him to, and gave penalties all the time for knock ons.
Did you see a different one?
