Well from where I was stood the Saints one looked a certain knock on, but maybe i'm just a bit bitter .
The worst call of the match was not sending Eastmond off, I was directly next to the incident and he basically gave BJ a crack round the face. Disgusting, reckon Leon might have taught him that one. It annoyed me at how many times the ref blew up for high tackles but didn't bother to sin-bin any of them.

| If the Bulls hadn't ridiculously opted for 2 points when Saints were on the brink of collapse, a completely different game could have ensued.
As it was, field position surrendered and that's what Saints do to you.

| Justin Morgan wasn't wrong, Thaler is a disgrace, might as well not bother with linesmen either as they don't flag for forward passes or offside,
Lack of consistency in referees is really starting to p iss me off

This was a bit of a turning point. If I'd been under the saints posts i'd have considered it a battle won - defend 3+ consecutive sets and then see the opposition decide to kick the third penalty they've received in a short space of time. It gave such a loud message from the Bulls of accepting that they couldn't get it over the line.
Terry was clearly furious at this coming from the bench and let Basil know it.

We went error free for the first half hour or so and Saints giving away cheap penalties actually slowed us down. Our disallowed try should have stood and one of Saints shouldn't. It was a more even contest than the scoreline dictates. Eastmond should have been in the bin and others could have been close, for whatever reason Saints seemed dirty today.'"
so the eight tries we scored didnt count then?
the biggest bunch of sour grapes ive seen from a poster..

It was nowhere near grounded. Shocking call.

I don't think anyone on here is denying you your victory. The best side won on the day for sure. At times, the Bulls just could not live with your pace and power. Big Maurie coming on just tore us apart. What I would give for a player like like (ala Paul Anderson) top come on for us. We are lacking that at the moment.
However, momentum matters and had we been rightly given the try that was disallowed, we would have been 18 points up with the ball back. Instead, after an error by us, you are given a try that you should never have had and its a different game. I'm pretty sure we would still have lost but it would have been tighter.
And another ref, another day, Eastmond might have walked. That would have changed things for sure. I really didn't see it from where I was though so who knows...

| On the whole it wasn't a bad performance I thought. We had spells when we looked useful and played some good Rugby, I particularly enjoyed the tries from the Menzies break and the lovely bit of centre play by Nero for Semi's try. But those silly errors in the 1st half cost us dear and probably took the game away from us.
I thought Burgess looked a little flat which was a problem because we struggled to compete with Saints big men. We still lack that impact prop that we can bring on from the bench to lift the side like Maurie and Puletua did for Saints.
On a positive note I thought Deacon showed glimpses of his old self without ever fully imposing himself on the game. I thought Nero carried on his excellent form and looks to have formed a dangerous partnership with Semi.
I don't think we learnt anything we didn't already know though today. If you make mistakes against a Saints team who in form, then you're unlikely to come out on top. It is hard to look past Saints for the trophies this year from what I have seen so far.
The lads now have to find some energy for the short turnaround against Leeds on Friday. Looks likely that we will be without Rinaldi and Morrison for that match too. With only one hooker available we will need top class performances from BJ and Deacon if we're to compete.

What's up with them? I wondered why Morrison didn't come back on.

Well I don't have the medical knowledge of Stevo but Rinaldi was a leg injury of some sort but he was walking on it by the end albeit struggling. He didn't look like someone who could play on Fri though. Morrison looked to be holding his ribs?
