Er...shouldn't the same apply to all clubs? Why would a too low a salary cap (supposedly applying to everyone) lead to what we saw on Friday?

What's the point of doing that when over half the club's won't be able to afford to spend it????
The only salary cap adjustment i'd make would be a 10/20k exemption on acadamy produced player's.
Your result/performance was nothing to do with a salary cap!!
It was the result of 3 game's in 8 days with a paper thin squad lacking in confidence,quality and 1st class coaching.

Granted there are winners and losers in all sports, but I would much rather see Bradford get beaten playing well and with quality players on the pitch rather then getting battered 22 – 58. 30-40k a year will not attract quality players to the sport!

The reason any sports person plays any sport whether it be professional or not is because they love it!!! Rugby League is no different. Bottom line is if players didn't want to play then they wouldn't! I would guess you havent played much sport yourself, otherwise you would know why rugby league players take to the field again and again.

Now......A little bit of a suggestion here. And please don't feel patronised as I have only been on this earth 23 years and have yet to know for definate that my sperm works.

It seems what the super nanny would call "negative parenting!" Maybe he could become a financial advisor or something such like as thats what you must be.... i mean how else would you be able to comment on this paultry RL players 30-40k income you seem to know so much about. Its not all about the money. I'd personally be much happier playing RL on 35k than playing union on 40K. Players sign a contract because they want to. They want to be top of their game and they want to compete and WIN trophies. In answer to your question "why should they be motivated".....the answer is simple. Because we should all be striving to be the best person we can be! Thats what i'll teach my son, whether he wants to be a RL Player, RU Player or whatever.

Trouble is, that doesn't always follow. Given a choice, I suggest most players will go where the money is.

No it's not it's as much down to HOW you spend on the cap and lack of faith in the acadamy.
Also the 10/20k exemption would top up their exsisting contract's.
There isn't enough money within the game to match a RU type salary cap!!

13th in league. These articles don't offer me any answers just more questions. Think we'll just see more and more of these over the next few weeks unless we somehow produce one of our greatest shocks in super league history.

Not quite, we'll still have the same discussions on similar threads, it will just include the statement that an against all odds and logic win at saints was just a freak one off the same as the Leeds win was a freak one off.

The only time we'll see less of them is if and when we get into a playoff spot and our wins match or beat our losses.....so that could be some time yet unfortunatly.
