Quote: Adeybull "Its all Macca's fault of course, and he'll have to go now...'"

You may have a point here Macca has made us reliant on old injury prone antipodeans like Morrison and Menzies. Morrison often gets medium length injuries this is no surprise, MacBanana should have expected it.

Step up to the plate Worrincy the Worrloard icon_biggrin.gif

I entirely agree every long term injury, to a succession of key players, is McNamara's fault, and indeed it was him that caused it, he flew out off the bench and tackled Morro across the knees when he wasn't expecting it.'"

Also the fact that Morro must be running around with his wrists at knee level all the time to get that injury from Macca must also be a coaching issue - Doubly Maccas fault then icon_wink.gif

I think there is one thing to be shown by Morro's injury with regard to Macca and that is that he is an unlucky coach. Unfortunately this is probably worse than being a bad coach.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Injuries are part of RL life, and in our case, we are used to having major players out for major periods. Here we go again.

We will crack on, as we have been doing these past couple of years, and not whinge about it. Not that any of our NT fans will care - they never considered our 2008 league finish in the context of just who was out for what periods of time so doubt they'll start now. Morro's loss for 3 months is a HUGE blow, but not one that will cut any ice in NT quarters. No doubt they will argue that we should have had a Morro clone in the stiffs for just this eventuality.

I entirely agree every long term injury, to a succession of key players, is McNamara's fault, and indeed it was him that caused it, he flew out off the bench and tackled Morro across the knees when he wasn't expecting it.'"
Oh silly me I forgot it was only us that picked up injuries last year. It's the shiite that you post which stops me post regularly. But nether mind you be back being all aggressive and holier than thou attitude.

It's a big blow for us. I'd prefer that Cook got the starting spot over Worrincy tbh

I too reckon Cook is in front of Worrincy at the moment. I'd also like to see if any of the younger lads are up to first team yet like Elliott Whitehead.

Just read the report on Morrison's injury. Ruptured the ligaments in his wrist in the early minutes of the game and played the full 80. The guy is mental. All I can say is Chuck Norris' real name is Glenn Morrison icon_lol.gif

Didn't he do something like this before his last long-term lay-off? I'd be surprised if carrying on playing full contact RL didn't in some way worsen the injury.

Sheer stupidity IMO, putting his own ego as a tough guy before the long-term needs of the team. The coaching staff should have identified that he had a problem and brought him off. Who runs the team, the coach or the players? Reminds me of Matt Adamson insisting on playing in the 2003 CC final witha plate in his jaw.

Woh woh woh! Sweet child o mine! Steady on there!

You're making an assumption that he knew he'd done some serious damage. It could well have been that he didn't think it was all that serious, it didn't affect his performance.

Only a moron would fail to understand the difference between an average number of average injuries which any team can expect, and an unusually high number of extremely serious, long-term injuries, to key players, which is what happened to us. Genuine question
icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe I over-reacted given the facts available. You would have thought the club doctor could have at least diagnosed him at half-time though?

If Morrison thought it was nothing, he may not have mentioned it.
