| I remember that Castleford game, we won 30-12 in awful conditions (are first ever Super League game).
Any one remember the 1999 match v Halifax at home?
We won 20-2 and it was non stop rain that night (the worst that I have ever experienced at Odsal), the Fog v Wigan (both games) coming a close second.

Ever seen The Day after Tomorrow?
Well it's currently like New York City was in that.
Head South before it's too late.

I like AccuWeather. Their confidence is inspiring.

I live about 3-4 miles away from Odsal as the crow-flies. Here it is sunny and warmer than forecast so a thaw has set in. However, Odsal is a bowl, and the popular (standing) side of the ground will pretty much be in shadow all day in winter.
Also the overnight forecast is -1 to -4 with some snow for the rest of the week, so getting snow/ice off the terraces might be the biggest problem.
Lastly, not that I'm a pessimist or anything, but sometimes the pitch gets waterlogged (although I think they did something about drainage a few years back?). It was not unknown, before 'summer rugby', for games to be reliant on one of our supporters and his road cleaning vehicle squeegeeing the pitch.

I dont think covers would do any good. I dont think the pitch would be the major hurdle, it will be the steps and walkways, if these are iced up there is no way the safety people will allow it.

| Shirt sleeve weather in Wibsey (1km from ground). If it stays like this for a couple of days we'll be fine.

I have just read an article from 2004 in which Simmo says that the drainage of the pitch has been vastly improved by adding over 60 tonnes of sand over the years. At that time he was waiting for a second pump to arrive to reduce the time to water the pitch! (Apparently it is now too free draining and, before 2nd pump, would take over 8 hours to water!).

| Would a posse of volunteers armed with shovels and bags of grit (or table salt) help the cause?
Anybody willing on Saturday afternoon?

Count me in if it means I get to see a Bradford Bulls game, two weeks now since Whitehaven is too long
