| A couple of points mentioned by Marc Green tonight. Apparently 4k season tickets was not a break even marker, and with twow eeks left we've just surpassed 3k sold.
Also something we totally forgot about earlier when trying to put some figures together is the bulls lottery - 5000 members each paying at least £1 per week generates the club another £250k in revenue for the year.

| Well it's a decent number given we've been relegated and the price increase. Plus there's still 2 weeks before our first home game and I suppose that game will give us a fair idea of what we can expect on a weekly basis crowd-wise

That's a great lottery, no cost to run and no prizes to win

And of those 3k sold, 12% have been bought by people who haven't had a season ticket in the last 2seasons.

| On the point of profit and loss - are we to assume the matchday magazine, or programme to the rest of us, was losing money? Sales weren't actually mentioned and, to be fair, whilst it was on good quality paper and had plenty of editorial stuff, at £3 a pop I'd have thought it added, rather than detracted, to the finances. Clearly not the case..

I would imagine that the value to sponsors and advertisers would go up significantly by increasing distribution. Maybe they see that as the more reliable revenue stream.

That is a very fair point and if true, it's maybe more strange that other clubs haven't come to the same conclusion. Possibly our new management is in front of the curve!!

No doubt I'll avail myself of a copy. I guess £2.50 was the price last year....that's not always any guarantee it will be the same this time round!!

| I've personally always looked at the programme as one of those things that looks great and obviously a lot of time goes into it, but in reality is probably only bought by people who either collect them, do it out of tradition, or a casual fan who doesn't go very often. I myself have missed about 1 game a season for the last 15 years and I've still only ever bought about 3 programmes.
They don't really have enough in there to interest the normal fan IMO, certainly not to the tune of the same price as a pint. If the printing costs are significantly less for the paper, and the advertising revenue is higher (which I expect it would be), then I wouldn't be surprised at all if it worked out better financially. They'll certainly get the free paper out to a lot more fans than they got the programme out to, as everyone will be happy to take one when it's free. Nothing us Yorkshire folk like more than a freebie.
Whether it works or not, time will tell. It's no doubt a gamble, but one I wouldn't be that surprised to see pay off.

| If you go on your own I suppose it's something to read but usually I read it back at home as you don't get the opportunity at the game. Well, that and I usually forget my glasses..
Similarly with away games, most of the reading is done on the coach coming home. Strangely, my reading glasses are part of the ritual for going away but not for home games

So looking forward to the launch of The Bulletin - your FREE match day newspaper yet another first in Rugby League delivered by The Bulls'"
So it's a free newspaper rather than a glossy programme.

Be interesting to hear your opinion of it afterwards as I know a lot of effort goes into its production
