| Quote: tigertot "Really, based on what? Just what benefit would there be to the RFL in that? Or are you suggesting they just don't like you?'"
It's a strange one TT.
The SLE/RFL bid, so we have been led to believe, was never intended to run the club but to facilitate a takeover by (some) other party. If, on that basis, the RLF chooses its own bid what does that say about the other bids? - and more importantly about the chance of another bid being around the corner?
Looking at the bidders I can't say that any of them jumps out as being in a position to fund a superleague team. Rhodes and Gibb are in charge at Bradford City where, only recently, fans were advised to reign in expectations of new signings and to be "more realistic", so realistically they won't have [ithat[/i much to spend on RL.
Bob Blackburn and Park Avenue are in a similar position judging from the local press where the alleged antics around the bar hardly suggest a well run or funded club. They are of course looking for a ground after the other one at Thornbury seems to have drifted off the radar.
The Omar Khan/Gerry Sutcliffe bid maybe offers the best hope, but in truth I say that only because I've no real knowledge of their contacts and sources of finance, which [imight[/i be bigger than thought, but equally might not.
Which leaves the SLE/RFL which given what I said above leaves me wondering what is in their business plan? Have they got a contingency in case [inone[/i of the bids are suitable? Are they prepared to run the club (in whatever division) if no other buyer comes forward? In the absence of a suitable bid will they drop the qualification of suitability?
Maybe they were correct in their initial assessment that once it is out of the administrator's hands someone else will turn up.
I tend to agree with Mick Potter to be honest; it's just gone on far too long.

| MP is correct when he says it is a total farce, it seems the RFL are continually asking amongst other things for updated and concrete business plans, to me this excuse is a delaying tactic to get us through to the end of the season without a buyer, maybe if the RFL were so diligent at the start of the current licensing period they would have known about the state of play with Crusaders and the Bulls. RFL way out of their depth it seems!!

The RFL did know about the situation at the Bulls, that's why they paid over the odds for odsal, effectively giving Bradford a hand out!!!!
This has now back fired on the RFL!!!

I saw, & still do, SLE's bid as a way of guaranteeing Bulls survival to the end of the season. AFAIK it preceded the City & BPA bids. The ABC I thought was more a property development bid. Khan/Sutcliffe I've not seen anything concrete to comment on. So, as i have said before, I'm not sure what the RFL could have done apart from hand it to someone unsuitable.

And your alternative would be to hand the club to someone without a proper business case? I take it you are a highly successful entrepreneur?

Listening to that Aussie bloke from the RFL, Blake Solly, a few weeks back he said that 18 months ago the Bulls franchise was one of the most attractive around. Now I don't know what he based it on in detail but there were few alarm bells ringing at that time. I would presume the Crusaders bid was similarly robust &, given the desire to expand into Wales, worth a punt. Neither situations were the fault of the RFL, the cubs got themselves into a fix. Just as clubs in a number of other high profile sports have done & will do. Football & yawnion have massive amounts of money & extremely wealthy business people in charge. Obviously they are way out of their depth as well.

Yes, the SLE bid preceded all bar the original ABC bid.
The biggest worry for me is that, at the moment, the only thing the RFL can do hasn't changed as there is no bid which stands out as being fully "acceptable", so it could be a case of between the devil and the deep blue sea for the RFL; run it themselves or hand on to someone who might be, in one way or another, unsuitable, or as I said before, maybe the criteria which decides 'acceptability' may be lessened. Mmm, decisions, decisions, decisions..

Are you always this touchy? Or did someone once dismiss your opinion based on how long you'd been watching the game and the injustice still smarts?
He got the facts wrong. Way wrong. I was suggesting two possible reasons why that might have been the case. There are other possible reasons but I'm far too polite to mention them.

It has to be before 2060: Isaac Newton calculated that's when the world will end.
Sadly he was not able to employ his undoubted intellect to predict how long the bulls administration would be, but should P&A be able to string it out so long their fees would be £25,200,000 (without an inflation factor).
They are probably hoping that Nostradamus's prediction of 3797 is correct.

Isn't it also the end of the Great Mayan Cycle very shortly? That should end everything nicely. Surely Old Mother Shipton also has something to say on it...however obtuse?? ...and then we just need the planets in alignment and Bob definitely is your uncle!!
