It's strange because I remember beating Widnes 6-0 in a No6 Final and we were totally confortable.

| Well it’s a win, bit sloppy defensively in patches which will concern Kear.
Pickersgill had another great game in attack and easily our most dangerous ball runner. For 70 mins it felt like one of those games where we would always have too much for Swinton and the players probably believed that as well until Swinton ran in two quick tries. Some smart plays near the end from the likes of Brough and Lilley was enough to get us home. Far from convincing in the end though.

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.: |

Great thinking by Lilley to slot the drop goal over. Our inability to kill off a game almost coming back to bite us for the second week in a row.'"
Agreed. A little composure before half time and when we went 23-10 up and we could have run away with that game. In the end we had to win it about 4times overall. But a wins a win.

I have to agree .... ive seen us over the years and knowing full well we aint gonna lose this game no matter how close (gonna discount the minor blip we suffered over the late 90s and early naughts). present day northern/bulls players wearing the shirt should be proud of any victory. But that's what I was brought up on .. a grind and a never say die attitude. gimme that and id gladly suffer a heart attack a week

ive seen a few of our games over the last few years albeit highlights .. I think I commented that Is he the new 'ghost' . the guy has just progressed so much and seems to have developed a nice turn of pace. we need to keep our academy at all costs, we have always produced and ever are producing

| Very vry nervy finish. Agree Pickersgill was very very good with ball in hand. The flip side is defensively he makes some very poor choices. The one try saver shows he has it in him to be able to but again some poor reads or lack of aggression to make a tackle. Don't want to detract from his great play with ball in hand yesterday but it has been a recurring issue throughout the season

| Think one of the issues regarding Pickersgill defence is he always goes high. He's probably one of the smallest full-backs in the game, so can't undetstand why he doesn't go low.
However he's really improved in attack do I'm sure he'll continue to work on the defence aspect of his game. He looks like he's found an extra yard of pace. His support play is superb too.

| As you get more experienced you start to see things earlier so you have a knack of being in the right place at the right time. Sounds as if Pickersgill is getting there with his attacking play and he's running less crossfield too. He just needs to do the same in defence - whether that means shouting at the defensive line more or sorting his own positioning. Agree on the last line of defence - a well executed tackle around the legs is what's needed.
When Lilley put that drop goal over I thought it might come in handy. Good game management.

| Good interview with Ant Walker in T and A. Lost 5 kg and looking to build up to 40+ minutes. I thought we missed Levy's presence and minutes on Sunday but Walker played well when on the pitch. Spoke well and if he gets back to near his best he'd be a stand out player in this league. Good luck to him.
These next two weeks with no game should hopefully give is time to work on fitness.

Maybe we could sponsor a night out for Pickers to discuss rugby with Keith Mumby?

| Or if you want a solid fullback in defence who's equally as happy scoring tries, then invite Stuart Spruce and Michael Withers too?
