Diskin has left the club I think - I'm pretty sure I read on the club website that his last game was the last academy game

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "All part of a weird phenomenon. The main symptoms include a genetic ability to "know" what the size of a crowd is, just by looking at it. The innately divined attendance is invariably much less than any figure published, unless a case needs to be made for a tax fiddle, in which case there were obviously many more there than officially claimed.

A good frequent example of this is the figure for how many "own fans" were in attendance, where the published figures are perversely always several factors less than the thousands who actually attended. However the reason for that is not financial, but to disparage and do down the travelling hordes. Obvs.

Very true, FA.

One thing I will say is that it is much easier to guess the crowd in an all seater stadium, where the stand capacities are known, than in a standing area where crowd density makes it very difficult to make any kind of estimate.

Didn't we once have a stand-off back in the day .. Gascoigne or something. Are we saving him for the Final?

That ship has long sailed... never see him in any of the pre-match training videos either!

To be honest, with the size of our squad I'm pushed to see who's there and who isn't, not much room to see how the grass is growing either. icon_lol.gif

It's a real shame with Gaskell. He's gone from being a bit of a hero with our fans for staying with us when we got relegated and then winning Championship Player of the Year, to now being generally quite disliked for this "I don't want to play and risk being injured for Huddersfield" rubbish. Sad that he'll probably (and justifiably) be remembered for that, rather than the good stuff.

My soothsayer tells me that he'll be travelling to Shudds via Lourdes, where he will become miraculously fit, pull the bus back to Blighty, and play almost every 2017 game.

Not sure what position they intend to play him but I hope for their sake they have adequate cover for Biscuit Boy. It would be nice for him to return in next year's 8's so we can give him an appropriate send-off.

Ht B20 Dews 4. Ref pedantic and slowing game down with plenty of penalties and taking ages to let most of scrums restart play

What was the final penalty count?!

Job done. Well deserved winners with Mellor showing some great work out wide. Roll on next week. Let's end this disappointing season on a high.

Also, can we have more than 2 turnstiles open next week? Only Bradford would have a delayed kick off for their lowest attended game all season.
