I guess the question is do you want cap spent on a one season gamble or somebody who will be with us for years and potentially be the future and not a stop gap.

The other question is, is the right player currently available who we'd want to keep hold of long term? Hull (who have money to throw about right now) have just signed a fairly ordinary ageing Aussie in Tony Martin. Perhaps that would suggest there is a lack of quality backs available. Hood has also stressed the point that we moved very early to secure Lulia and Purtell.
For me it would be dependent on what sort of deal Senior is after. He'd be an improvement on both Sykes and Platt.

I thought Lulia looked the part for the Knights but otherwise I agree. Walker needs to go into the second row and stay there, Purtell has played mainly as a winger, Platt and Sykes, well enough said.

Lifted from Eels site
Quote: Bulls1989 "Although he made just one appearance for the Eels in 2010, Manase's hulking size and stature and raw ability will no doubt lead him to be a dominant forward in the NRL once again in 2011.
'"
Could be interesting
Plus a few stats

| Now, I'm not saying that this guy will be great, rubbish or anywhere in between.
However, there is not doubt that most of our imports that have achieved the greatest success have this kind of profile.

| He has only represented Tonga, how does this fit in with the overseas quota etc. Doesn't Tonga come under the Kolpak ruling or is that all part of your overseas and non fed trained quota now?

Only if you're Tongan - i.e. have a Tongan passport. A player who has represented them as a heritage player (parent or grandparent) can't be a kolpak.

| Hang on, I thought Hood said we were looking at someone from the NRL? I think its a stretch to say that someone from a feeder club who made one NRL appearance over a year ago is an NRL player
