Indeed, it will be interesting to compare the reverse fixture particularly if we have close to our first choice 17 fit with the benefit of 20 odd matches played together. The Leigh game was always likely to be a bit of an ambush but I'm happy for the Leigh fans to believe their own hype in the meantime.

Maybe the Leigh ref will be appointed again. We missed a trick not having our own.

What? You mean the way you scored ONE more try than we did? Or the fact that we've currently the best attack in the league?

The win was built on the back of some very solid defence imo. If we'd buckled early on it could have been very different since we barely had any ball in the first 20 mins - largely due to chucking it away, it must be said.

For his first game at half I thought Mullaney had a great game and the forwards looked solid throughout, prticularly Clough and Sidlow. Ferguson played well in his relatively short burst and came through it without incident, again a good sign.

Shaw was fine at FB for me, and his kicking must have really been dispiriting for Rovers especially as they pretty much dominated the early part of the game but found themselves well behind by half time.

MOM has to be Gaskell, I do hope we can keep him - he's far too good for this division.

Has anyone watched the post match press conference that's up on Bulls TV?

Lots of things to admire in yesterday’s performance. Our defence in the first 20mins was excellent as we were camped at the bottom of the slope and couldn’t seem to hang onto the ball in the wind and rain. We seemed to really get stuck in and there were some real bone crunchers. Having 4 forwards on the bench enabled us to play with more intensity, it was a good gameplan by Lowes. As Lauaki, Fleming and Davies come back I can see us using this ploy a lot more.

We looked like scoring whenever we got into the Fev half and seemed to have particular success down our left side with the Fev edge defence looking a bit dodgy. We moved the ball very well and didn’t seem to miss Siejka at all. Gaskell took on more responsibility and seemed to thrive in it, his 60m try was something special. I thought Shaw did well at fullback without really being tested. He lacks the zip of Mullaney but was well positioned and his goalkicking was excellent.

Up front Sidlow and O’Brien stood out again. I thought Samir improved again, he looks ungainly but his passing game had Fev not knowing what to do and how he didn’t score in the first half is beyond me. There was a good cameo from Ferguson, that first run where he won the penalty and he offload for O’Brien showed what we’ve been missing. Lauaki was obviously a way off match fitness but we used him well as a dummy runner and he forced one error with an absolute bell ringer of a tackle. I think he touched the ball once so more to come I think!

On areas for improvement I thought we didn’t quite click in attack sometimes. Probably a symptom of changes to the line up but we’re also a relatively new team. We should have had at least two more scores when you think that Samir should have scored and Uaisele should have gone in at the end.

I think we’re shaping up very nicely.

Very impressive result for you, and one which does send a message to the rest of the league. Sounds like things are coming together for you, with players coming back. I'd have you as favourites to finish top.

That said, I'm also delighted Leigh have gone 3 from 3 given the games we've had, Fax and Fev will always be a force in this league (despite this week's result), and London showed signs of some good individual play yesterday, just need to bring it together as a team.

All in all, looks like it will be a cracker of a season, with plenty of "my team's better than your's" bickering as we go along!

I think Tahraoui could become a very good prop towards the end of the season. I think sometimes fans get too excited just because a prop forward is big. Just because you're big doesn't make you a could prop or rugby league player (Look at Ian Kirke)

Tahraoui is still very green and has lots of improvement in him. I have been pleasantly surprised by his defence, and he has also done some big minutes. Yesterday he started to drive his legs more in the tackle and caused Fev problems.

The more he plays and is tutored by Sidlow, Clough, Harrison etc, the better he will be.

Most pleasing thing about yesterday is we looked good, but we still have lots of improvement in us. Two of our players yesterday were playing their first games.

Important we keep Sidlow, O'brien and Gaskell fit though and don't burn them out.

Couldn't make the game as ive got alot of packing still to do before I go to Aus, but just wanted to know how was the kicking game? Seijka was hit and miss when at Leigh just wondering if there was an improvement with Gas and Mul in the halves?

Reading the reports the team seemed to have play extremely well, need to keep our noses up now and not get over hyped or fear it all crashing down, think it will be us and Leigh for 1-2 with maybe Fax and Sheffield in 3-4, will take alot to get promoted this year but here is to a good ride nontheless

Apart from one attempted 40-20 that just went out on the full we kicked pretty well. Much better than Sykes who kept kicking the ball dead.

It wasn't a day for high kicks as there was a hurricane blowing.

Despite the weather it was another great day as a travelling supporter. The ground at Fev is really coming on and a real testament to their fans who also came out in very good numbers yesterday. Actually starting to enjoy the away games as the atmosphere seems to be better.

Thought our defence was excellent throughout the first half and I agree that if we'd conceded it could have been a bit different. However, that wasn't the case and we bided our time well and countered which seemed to knock Fevs confidence.

Think Shaw did a great job at FB and i'd be happy to see Mullany keep his place in the halves longer term. Ulugia seemed better this week and took his chances well.

Gaskell... nothing needs to be said. Just different class!!!

Impressed with Samir, looks like he's really finding his feet in the side.

Switched ends in second half and enjoyed some good banter with the home fans. They have quite rightly picked out Sykes weaknesses already and are not convinced that they'll make top 4 which surprised me. Personally think they'll finish top 4 with us, Leigh and Fax.

All in all a good result. Now looking forward to Hunslet at home and then another away day in Batley icon_biggrin.gif
