Our cap breach arose because someone at the RFL decided that the image rights an unconnected third party was paying to Harris should be fall within the cap. Even though the same policy was not followed for e.g Stains and Scully and Gillette.

Your breach was for seeking to manipulate payments to players between years IIRC. The RFL rules you spent over the cap, despite your attempts to argue that the payments related to subsequent years.

Also, IIRC, you were fined considerably more than we were. And the RFL ruling wording was considerably harsher towards you than us.

And before anyone says any bollox about Morley - I understand we did not pay Morley any more than normal finishing position bonuses. He played to keep up his match fitness for the subsequent internationals.

Nope, certain players took a pay CUT to free up space under the cap in order to sign Fielden. The terms offered were for a slight reduction to their contracts, but an extra year on the length of them. This was widely reported and well known information, there was no underhandedness to it, think of it like the Government and their cuts... Actually, no, maybe don't.

I'd not judge Bulls fans by the odd bad apple. Best do what most of us do and ignore the more extreme vitriol. Also, though, don't forget how crap it feels when you have been on the wrong end of a total humiliation on Sky two weeks running. That is bound to have an impact on some of the reactions, as is the waknerage posted by the likes of the pathetic and unpleasant example of pond life posting as "Johnny F" on another thread.

You normally post sensible and relevant contributions on these forums, and that'll do for me.

TBH, there's nothing strange about that. I tend to only go onto other fans forums around the time Bradford are playing them. I don't think I'm alone in doing this.

I have many memories of how crap it feels being on the wrong end of heavy scorelines, thinking 70-0 and 75-0 in close succession (we all know which matches they were), but I certainly conducted myself a little better than certain other people.

Anyway, that's almost where Bradford are now... had Pat had his kicking boots on. With several key injuries and on the wrong end of a few heavy scorelines.

What I'm getting at is things seemed hopeless for us then, and look at where we are now. Just prior to Super League is when we dominated most, Bradford had their period just after. I think now's your time to have a bad run, a tough time for fans to pull the team through. And just like us, you'll need to make some astute signings and have faith in the young ones... No matter who we imported or signed over the years, NO-ONE plays with more passion that those who have come through the system, because they're desperately trying to get into the team that we have.

Things CAN and WILL get better for Bradford.

What I'm not into is gloating, which is what Craig did last year when you picked up a win over us in the early part of the season. He felt the need, despite the fact our paths haven't crossed much since Bullragegate, to personally dig the victory in my direction. If you want to blame someone for how things lie just now, maybe we should consider Craig's long overdue Karma...

Anyway. Onwards and upwards. Hope to see Bradford at least make the play-offs next year, and maybe vying for top spot a year or two after that.

But as for Best of British...to be honest mate unless we find a wealthy sugar daddy pretty quickly I fear we are going to need it. It was ultimately money that gave you guys the platform to get back up to the top - where I suspect you will be for a while now. It is ultimately lack of money that will prevent us from doing the same.

A bit of faith in the youth system wouldn't go amiss though. Me and the missus have both been annoyed by the frustrating nature in which much of your up and coming talent was allowed to leave Bradford whilst keeping old hands on deck.

Probably the biggest example of this was Rearden, I think if he had been allowed to stay he would have become a much better player than he is now.

Back in 2003 (long time ago, I know), I had him tipped as a future GB Fullback.

I think your missus will be one of a large number of Bulls fans who have been annoyed and frustrated at how so much young talent has been lost over recent years. Its not stopped either - look at how we lost the very promising Helliwell to Wire in the off-season? And I just hope the circumstances were not as I have heard, because if they were then it was criminal that we let him go.

Not just young talent either. I doubt you would find that many Bulls fans now who (with hindsight, if not always at the time) would agree with letting Beaver and Morro go - and of course the little matter of releasing Deacs for that unspeakable cowpat of a poor little mummy's boy.

Heard from 2 people that Helewell will be back at the Bulls next season.
