| There have been numerous head coach, assistant coach and other related jobs advertised in League Express before. It's hardly something new. Presumably they just haven't been noticed by most as they're not relevant to us.
I know it looks a bit daft, but loads of clubs have done it before and it's really not a big deal at all.

And when Peter Gabriel left Genesis in 1975, the band advertised in MM and NME for a new lead singer, describing themselves as "...a Genesis-type band".
Myabe the Bulls should instead have advertised the vacancy as being at "...a Bulls-type club..."?

Indeed.
Now here is some food for thought for those who are indeed shocked at the advert being placed:
Let us imagine the not-uncommon scenario where your target or targets is or are already gainfully employed by another club or clubs? What are you going to do - approach them and try and poach them? Induce them to breach their contract, even? Bulls, of all clubs should know where that can get you.
Now if, however, you placed a nice bland ad in the trade press, and your target just happened to read it and just happened to approach YOU - and that IS what really happened cos both parties will say it was, and they are all totally honest people so it must be right - then you are in the clear. You'll not have some lost-his-rag chief exec. telling the world you "cohersed" his man away, or anything like that.
Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt saying "we put food in a starving lawyer's babies' mouths" in precisely this scenario.

Guess? Opinion? Or have you heard something down there?
Would be a pretty powerful appointment. Is he working since his little local difficulty (or stitch-up?) with Souths?
Edit: see he has a role with the Roosters at present, but not at top level.

I took it as a joke at first but it is obviously serious. Is anyone who reads LE up for a job in super league!
I'm pretty good on Football Manager
Funnily enough, there is an almost identical ad in THIS week for Brown's job.
So believe...!

Must be the only place there are job adverts ATM. I've just been on the bog with this week's Property Week & could normally kill a good 5 minutes looking at the vacancies, now it would be lucky to last a trump.

One takes it that your boss does not read this forum...?
As for job ads for what I do...I'd have to to sit there browsing the web on my Blackberry, and hope it did not slip out of my fingers and drop down somewhere fatal...

I take it a blackberry is a mobile email & smart phone device, not something else...?

Aren't there also some very basic laws around advertising jobs for the purposes of equality, etc? IIRC something like 95% of all listings advertised on the front page of the Guradian Jobs are reckoned to be already appointed but they have to be seen to be advertised.
Regardless, this does now present an unrivalled opportunity for anyone on here to APPLY! Can I suggest that if anyone on this forum does not go for it themselves then they lose some of their future credibility in criticising Macca's successor?
(I think it's spelt 'coerced' by the way.)

I think that only applies to publicly funded businesses, though many companies will have policies that say they will advertise. All these policies, whether public or private, are circumvented when the need arises. The figure of 95% stated is way over the mark in my experience, maybe 10-20%.
