What case is there to rest? Given the problems he has had to deal with on and off the park, less budget than the likes of a Davy-funded Hudds or a Moran-funded Wire, and overperformance on the park? Few would not have had him at or near the top of the short list.

Just a shame the financial performance has not lived up to the playing performance.

As a life long Wakefield fan, the financial situation comes as no surprise. Just hope Kear doesn't walk away. Top coach, great guy and fully deserved.

I see Macca was using a green felt tip pen on Sat, clearly Smith had given him a diagram of the pitch to color in by half time. Then in the second half he let him play walkie talkies to keep him quiet until the fireworks after the game.
