| Quote: Asim "While the SLE bid is undoubtedly a sensible, short term option I can only imagine it will involve the setting up of a newco to be sold on.
It's one thing taking over the running of a club, but taking on the liabilities it clocked up would lead to a, fairly justified, outcry.'"
Thats what I was thinking, we're getting outcrys anyway, for some of which I can hear the rattle hitting the nursery wall from here. But if SL(E) were to pay the outstanding debt it would indeed be a justified outcry and a crazy precedent. We'll have new owners or no owners before the start of next season.

| seems a good move in the short term, though how it would work medium to long term then i dont know. I cant see how they would just let us fold at the end of the season after putting in the money now.
Say if no buyer comes forward and we have to fold, will the other clubs/SLE just write off any monies they have contributed to the deal to take us to the end of the year or whatever

| Have I missed something?
Everyone is talking about a fait accompli but there's only one person who can sanction a sale of the Bulls, and that's BG.
Long way to go yet IMO.

| Quote: Bullseye "It's an unconditional offer from SLE so the RFL will accept it. The RFL are making sure there are no strings attached to any bids and rightly so.
Those people accusing the RFL of everything under the sun should be applauding the way they've handled this deal. This way a club is saved from falling into the wrong hands.
Now every SL club has had a say in this too. Can't say fairer than that surely? If they collectively want to make a bid then that's fair enough.
The issue now is finding a "[iproper[/i" buyer who can take the club from SLE and develop it. We may be safe from imminent liquidation but the long term future is far from secure as I see it.'"
We're in uncharted waters. This was done to get BG out of the way as he was in a position to close everything down.
This is an offer to BG to form a newco. Decision Tue/Wed next week
The contracts will be TUPE'd across.
Old debts will be left behind. But this is the clever bit.
SLE/RFL are only guaranteeing until Nov30th.
The thinking is with BG out of the way that offers will come in which can be considered. The only way to retain the SL licence is to make good a substantial amount of the old debts (like Glover did).
The Sugar Daddies of clubs which make annual losses were set against Bulls walking away from debts and staying in SL. So against it were they that they pointed out it would be easy for them to do the same thing with their clubs - leaving the RFL with the possibility of "scorched earth" up & down the M62.
No offer made, then on 1st Dec the (debt -free) Bulls start life in the Championship.
The SLE/RFL still have to think about Coaching staff, academies, scholars, administration. No decision made on any of these yet. Not actually had time to think about it yet.
Uncharted waters, Interesting times.

| Firstly, I'd like to say I'm glad the Bulls look to be in the clear. OK, I'm a Leeds fan, but have a few good friends who are Bradford fans. I'm genuinely chuffed to bits for them and the rest of you.
I do feel sorry for fans of other clubs who have entered admin or gone bust. They must be find today's news perplexing at the least.
Obviously the deal still needs to go though and we probably won't know a lot of finer details for a while yet.
Let's hope this mess can be resolved and the whole thing is used as a case-study for the prevention of future club financial problems.

Indeed.
Gives him a quick and honourable way out, presumably with his bills paid.
Bet the conversations of late between him and the Dark Lord have been not dissimilar to those between Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel after the latter's frequent bollox-ups...?

| I couldnt see a sugar daddy option, so the sugar daddies option was completely off the radar, tho on reflection logical given the chicken-egg situation. nor does this bid exclude some of the other consortiums ideas for increasing income, if they were that good then they are still worth pursuing with the new owners. If I was SLE I would look at the feasibility of creating a better Mancy curry mile for Yorkshire, the Bollywood Bowl (with acknowledgement to the Bollywood Restaurant in Gargrave) or some other cheesy title (oops).
What is important now is the Bulls fans through whatever structure/organisation have as much influence on the future of the club as possible whilst there are owners that genuinely have the clubs interests at heart. BBuilder are the obvious choice to get in there quick and get a foot in the door and start the dialogue, even if they then are replaced by a different fans body.

| If MR G accepts- This is a newco...all players we're told contracts void once this season ends and are free to look for new clubs, presumably because bulls will be in championship next season? And the contracts state super league?????
