Not true in the slightest. Hes not allowed to play for us whilst hes training with the fire service. This was well documented when he signed for us.

What dispensation could the fire service offer though? They understandably don't want an active trainee breaking something. And equally Elliott has the rest of his life to think about; he doesn't want to eff up the start of his career getting injured in his training phase. Selfishly of course, it would be good.

To be fair, as I understand it the fire service has no problem with him playing as a firefighter, it's the risk to an injury which may cause him to miss his training. Basic training, seems not to be an on-going thing but something that is done in blocks with largish gaps between. IF he were to get a serious injury during this period it would throw his induction training back maybe several months, so it's not really an unfair imposition.

TBF at moment its not like we really need him. Current wing options are performing well and we've got good cover options. Kear coming in will give us an injection of quality at business end, only issue might be his lack of match fitness after such a long layoff.
