| Quote Bulliac="Bulliac"I've now got a figure, which covers my Wakefield ticket, taken from my card account in the name of - the rfl.co.uk
I guess it was an RFL promoted match [as distinct from a normal Wakefield home game so I'm assuming the Bulls have passed on the card details to the RFL and they've taken it. I hope..'"
I've had nothing charged yet, hopefully they've forgotten about it.. bit like I'm trying to do about the match result!

| Has anyone bothered buying a season ticket yet?
Maybe it's just because this forum is completely dead at the minute, but it still feels like the club (and the fans) are struggling to pick themselves up from the mpg defeat.
It's not helping that there is pretty much zero positive news coming out of the club at the minute, all the t&a seems to be doing is running articles reassuring fans that contracted players won't be walking out on the club!
I mean, why are we even needing that kind of reassurance in the first place? I don't see any other clubs having to confirm that their best players aren't leaving. It all just comes across as completely negative and defensive to me.
There are pretty much zero rumours about signings right now, the coach that a lot of fans don't rate looks like he's staying....everything just feels so flat.

Totally agree without the drip feed of ood news and silhouettes of new signings like last year could be a truggle getting peopel up for it needs a real big marketing push in my eyes

| The biggest fillip would have been showing Lowes the door. Does anyone think next season will be anything other than 2015's mediocrity? It makes parting with one's hard-earned difficult.

I understand where you're coming from, but I don't get your point about players staying being defensive and negative. The reason other clubs don't have to do it is because they're in SL. We're in the championship where let's be honest, good players don't want to be. The fact Gaskell, O'brien, Mullaney will be with us next year is much better news than any signing.
Also they probably won't be many signings. The general moan is that the squad is too big and needs to be trimmed down. So therefore they won't be many coming in. I also expect the club is trying to negotiate some releases to free up SC space.
Our season only finished two week a go. The club were in a difficult position to sign players as players wouldn't have known what we're signing up for.
As is always the case half the rumours will be true, and then there will be one or two signings come completely out of the blue.

Other thing that maybe being overlooked is that it was widely rumoured that a few of players that came down from SL with us took lower paid contracts last year and higher paid ones for next year, presumably on assumption we'd be back in SL with a higher cap. We now have to accommodate those higher wages within championship SL cap. Suspect that will have as much to do with reduction is squad size as anything.
Think there will be two or three signings over next few weeks and departures of some of fringe players. I think club has probably waited until issue with Card service provider was sorted and they were back in position to take card payments before starting with signing announcements to try and build some momentum. Rumours re Gaskell/Obrien etc needed addressing before they became entrenched IMO.

| I think the players agreed to an improved contract IF we got back into SL.
I haven't bought a season ticket and I don't intend to until probably the weekend before kick off. May as well have the money in my account as long as possible. I've never really used the benefits so not much incentive to rush out to renew now the early bird discount has gone.

I agree. I see no need to rush to give the club my money before Xmas.

| At the risk of being lambasted on here I would ask is it worth losing one of our better players (no-one in particular). As they are all on contract we could perhaps better use the transfer fee to finance 2 or 3 good players. Having 1 world beater is OK until he gets injured. Otherwise, as the saying goes, we would be stupid to do what we did last year with the same resources and expect a different outcome.

| You are all emperor's new clothes people. You have all seen that it isn't possible on Championship resources to win the MPG in all but extreme circumstances, which are unlikely to arise again, yet you are all talking as if we have a decent chance of going up. We haven't. Nobody has. If you haven't got a SL quality team then you will never win that game against a SL quality team, and usually you will get mullered.
Sure we will go through the motions, but really, we are not hoping to win an unfair comp, we are entirely dependant on some other team suffering a meltdown. That can happen, as we of all people know, but if it doesn't, this system does not allow promotion.
And having been the beneficiaries of a Wakey meltdown, we blew it anyway.
