| Our defence has been superb.. but then we haven't really been tested yet. Kept Fax scoreless, Sheffield scored 2 from kicks, and we gifted HKR 2 tries (and the game). Its our attack that's been off the boil though. Couldn't seem to break down Fax until the last couple of minutes, Sheffield let us walk in really, and we could of been playing for a week against HKR and I don't think we would of scored any more points.
Our kicking for goal has been the worst I can ever remember these last few weeks, so if its a tight game which comes down to goal kicks then that's where it will suddenly become squeaky-bum time for Widnes.

| Haven't seen much of Widnes but i can understand how they can blow hot and cold, need to get out of the blocks early like against Salford and make them start to doubt themselves.

| From the T&A:
"The Bulls will assess the fitness of Lee Gaskell, Harry Siejka and Matt Ryan ahead of Sunday's game but Jake Mullaney looks certain to feature."

| It's a funny one trying to predict how we will go on against Widnes. Against Sheffield I was very nervous, thinking if we played rubbish and lost our chance would of ended after one game and we hammered them. Against Wakie I genuinely thought we would win, I just couldnt see us losing and we got hammered. I'm sure we all thought Salford would hammer us and we hammered them. So not a clue what will happen Sunday

| I was feeling quite good about this game and thought we had a decent chance, just seen on skybet that we have a 16 point start. Looks like they think we have no chance.

| Re the T and A quote re assessing Gaskells fitness, is the clubs way of preparing us for his non appearance?

| The bookies on average have the odds on this game around 1/5 Widnes, Bradford 7/2. If you fancy us its 9/2 with SkyBet and Stan James. Regardless of form, 9/2 is not a bad price in any 2 horse race. I suppose it represents a reasonable assessment of lightning striking twice!
I am sure that Widnes should be strong favourites, but think that our underdog tag is another thing in our favour, and another way to look at the odds is the bookies actually think we could beat Widnes in around one game in four. I will go to the game confident that this will be that one game in four, and I hope the players do too. As a SL club, Widnes "should" have been 1/10 and the fact they are not should also be gnawing away at them.
Can i just point out that if you put £100 on Salford @ 1/4 and also put £20 on Halifax @ 21/4 and then oddly enough you are guaranteed a fiver profit unless it's a draw. Put a £1 on a draw at 33/1 and you have all bases covered but cut your guarantee to £4

More likely messing with Widnes heads, and making sure they have to have two game plans, one to deal with Gaskell and one not.

| Looking at the two squads with my rose tinted glasses on there didn't seem too much between the squads, maybe just that they could defend better than we can. Run of the ball and a decent performance maybe we can beat the bookies again.
