| So one of the benefits of relegation - the absence of the stupid magic weekend fixtures for championship teams - has now been removed. We are so lucky.

| Quote zapperbull="zapperbull"With Sky not showing very many Championship games it make you wonder why they bothered to get the rights, are the RFL really trying to increase the exposure of the game? or just taking an easy sell to Sky'"
It’s probably because the competition is so complicated from next year, that it’s easier to sell everything to a single broadcaster – if Sky had SL and Premier had Championship, who would get the middle 8 – either side would be narked off that they weren’t getting to broadcast the end to the season they had spent 26 weeks covering. Also Sky don’t like sharing if they can get away with it – it’s exclusivity or nothing for them usually (unless they are forced to by the courts in the case of the Premier League), hence why England RL games aren’t on Sky anymore as they wanted exclusivity, but the RFL wanted some games on the BBC.
Suits me fine, means we can go under the radar a bit, otherwise I could have seen us being on TV quite a bit and would have been disruptive playing on a Wednesday/Thursday or whenever they deemed necessary.

| To be honest, I'll be glad if they DON'T show Championship games.
If they did, we'd probably be on every other week - given that, frankly, we are a big fish in that (smaller than SL) pond. And that brings disruption, changes to the schedule, short turnarounds, and smaller crowds for Thursday night games.
Playing every Sunday suits us just fine. Far easier to sell season tickets if we know that is going to happen.

Spot on - never easy to get away for weekday games, so Sunday afternoons much better

| Would be nice if they did a programme like "Championship Fulltime" like the current SL one showing highlights of all the games

| At the very least, I would hope that the RFL include highlights from the games on their website, like they do currently with the SL games.

| If I'm honest I'm far from sure I'll be keeping Sky sports if the coverage of the championship remains as it is. I enjoy the SL games don't get me wrong, but the big driver is how it relates to my team and next year..well, it just won't relate.

| I know what you mean - in terms of the league being covered - but as a curiosity even with reduced just middle 8 coverage I wonder if we could still end up being on Sky more next year than this year (or at least as much) even if it is just the middle 8.
How many games have we been on this year? Four? All I can think of is Wakey away and Hull KR at home - as well as the Magic Weekend and Catalans away trip - both of which they show for every team anyway. A subject for another thread, but that must be the absolute bare minimum they can show a team. There is still a chance they might move the London game if everything like league leader's shield and playoff places are sorted mind...

| To be honest, showing the 'play-off' between the bottom two clubs is probably the antithesis of everything Sky stand for. I mean, it [icould[/i be a brilliant match, with two sides having nothing to lose giving the ball some air.....I've seen some super games played by local teams in the park, when it comes down to it. It would be a difficult game to market though, and there's probably one game which is likely to be a 'rehearsal' for one of the play-off games - a much more Sky-like game to show for my money. You can almost hear Eddie now, "Just imagine how much better the play-off game is going to be..."...especially if neither side wants to show its hand before the 'big game' and they include lots of numbers between 17 and 40 in the teams.
London V Bulls? Sounds a bit too much like a championship match to me!
