| Quote Bullseye="Bullseye"Has it really added interest? Crowds are down. Mood is bleak. I'm less interested in the 1st team. How many more games have you actually paid to go and see since p & r came back?'"
If there wasn't P&R there would have been several hundred less posts on here, the Whinging Wakey board or VT, & less letters of threatened hari kari in the press. The 6 points would be irrelevant in that context. Wakey & Salford wouldn't be in the market. Fev wouldn't be buying SL players, arguably Leigh wouldn't be the force they are now nor put up the performance they did against Leeds. I don't buy the argument P&R apologists gave that it would automatically increase attendances, though it undoubtedly will if there are do or die games at the end of the season.

| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"If somebody would advance an at least semiplausible way in which Green could "get his cash back" out of our operation then I'd be prepared to consider it. Bear in mind this is the club where our last investor "got back" minus £1 million in what, just over 1 year?
As things stand, it is down on my list of Things I Would Be Prepared To Consider As A Possibility somewhere between Alien Abductions and Me Buying A Justin Bieber record'"
Scenario 1: He doesn’t buy the club and instantly loses £200k.
Scenario 2: He buys the club for a minimal amount from the administrator. Doesn’t pay any creditors so the club starts again with zero debt. Massively cuts costs. Doesn’t put in a single penny to recruit new players. Slowly pays back the £200k to his company in monthly instalments using sky money. Club gets relegated because he doesn't buy new players, but is competitive in SL2. After loan repayments are complete he sells the club to someone like Mrs Koucash for the minimal amount he paid.
Semi plausible???

I doubt the general loss of gate money, shown by disillusioned fans not turning up for most of the season, is going to be turned round by a one or two games at the fag end of the season. The relegations on offer [there [i:2r2a5uieis[/i only effect the bottom clubs anyway; the rest have no real interest.

Not remotely.
I simply don't buy that there are hundreds of thousands of pounds floating about that are available to be appropriated in this way. I would be frankly amazed if he is not having to top up the monthly outgoings, especially given
*the severe lack of "Sky money" and
*the almost complete lack of matchday income (as he has honoured season tickets).
Where on earth do you suggest a surplus might possibly come from?
And even if there was, on what basis could Mr. Green pay £200K out of company funds to SGS, a totally unconnected business to whom we don't owe a penny?

| he can get his original 220k? amount that debenture was for as soon as we get relegated by taking the 250k parachute payment. Cant see how he can recover amount hes had to spend between taking over and end of season which must amount to 500k+ just in wages and ground rental. Only way I could see is some form of payment for surrendering long lease on odsal assuming we play at VP in championship butthat would require RFL to in turn surrender its lease back to council to allow alternative development of ground. Cant see how that would work TBH.

Maybe the extra £300k sky money that all clubs are getting this year, didn't the RFL hold it back until we had new owners in place? Plus our salary outgoings must be far less than last year. Maybe there is enough money to be sustainable at the moment?

Ooh, I remember SGS on the shirts - Peter Fox was the coach, Jackie Austin on the wing, big Jeff Grayshon at no. 8, Dennis Trotter in the second row and young half called Steve Ferres.....

Iirc they only held back the last 50k of it. Bulk of it was paid while green and co were in charge before we went into admin.

| There will still be sponsorship money coming in though. And some, if not much, from match day income. Plus we are still getting some sky money, although reduced. When OK had to supplement wages we were paying up to the cap. Now that player and backroom costs have been cut we might be sustainable. I'd say that was at least slightly plausable!

| I think 'paying up to the cap,' is exactly the same sort of euphemism that ISPs go in for when they say up 38Mb..
* On reflection, "euphemism" may not be the right word, perhaps disingenuous use of English might be more accurate.

we werent anywhere close to full cap spend under OK. He said full Cap was available but then only signed foster and a couple of others, whilst a lot of higher earners werent retained from previous years squad.
