| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"Don't see this as an issue. Just for instance a new company could be Bradford Bulls (2012) Ltd and could trade as Bradford Bulls, which is just a trading name.'"
Very true. It would actually be a bit perverse to drop the Bulls name in fact, since it's the 'Bulls brand' which is apparently the reason for much of the support.

| We've got no money to start with. If the club re-brands then they'd need to spend out a load of money on new signs, kit and, if we're staying at Odsal, replacement of the seats in the seating area.
To me, it just doesn't seem cost effective. Especially given the mis-management that got us into this situation in the first place

| How can the Chicago Bulls own a word? Or even a picture of that word?
As of now I own the word cheese and all pictures of cheese, so anyonee who uses the word cheese or a picture of cheese can pay up....

| It is not the word that the Chicago Bulls own. The issue involves the similarity in the logo, which obviously, is a trademark of the Jerry Reinsdorf owned Bulls.
Other 'Bulls' such as the Queensland Bulls cricket team, the Blue Bulls RU side, the New York Red Bulls or the USF Bulls [US college team do not use an emblem which is similar to that of the Chicago Bulls. Therefore I would presume are not infringing on any trademarked property by merely using the word 'Bulls'.

| yes bdh its the image rights not the name of itself, our current bulls logo is a look alike for the Chicago bulls, but there are plenty of other bulls teams in the US etc that have logos nothing at all like the chicago eg University of Florida Bulls, New York Red Bulls.
Re imaging may be cheaper than buying the old image rights off Guilfoyle, hes not going to give them away

| It's a crap, childish, unprofessional looking logo anyway imo (although not as crap and childish as the Rhino one). I wouldn't give a crap if it was replaced with a new logo or even the Bradford coat of arms.
Allow the supporters to design one and vote on it. New start, new logo.

IIRC from shortly after the name changed to Bulls, CC said, in and interview in the T&A that the logo was used with permission from the chicago Bulls (I'm sure if it wasn't we'd have heard by now...) though I don't know if there was any money changing hands.

Given the club happily dropped it's identity in the recent past more fool them if they thought it was going to last forever.

I said on another thread - yes that is correct, and an annual fee is or was involved. That is one reason why the club has to be very careful who else is allowed to use the logo, and why there are restrictions on its use for commercial purposes by other parties as I understood it.
