| TMFMISL would be a great signing for a team who are far too soft and easy to get at.

| Quote Bullseye="Bullseye"....and Bailey has given away fewer penalties than the vast majority of our forwards. Does that make them dirtier players?
This stuff about Bailey being a dirty player is balls. If he was that bad why his he better disciplined than Lynch, Kopczak, Hargreaves, Whitehead, Elima, Diskin, L'Estrange etc???'"
Because he is sly, he puts the cheap shots in when it can't be seen, he does it every game and gets away with it most of the time, credit to the guy as he's the master at it.
He is an average player and a thoroughly dislikeable person, I for one would not be impressed if he joined the club.

| He's sly? You'd think the officials would be onto him by now if all these fans were right wouldn't you? Can they really be so blind as to miss his antics for nearly 10 years? Obviously the fans know better You should become a ref!
I've never met the bloke so can't comment on what he's like as a person. He may have been a bad boy in the past but so have a few and that doesn't necessarily taint them for life.

For?
Again, for fear of repetition, but clearly necessary for the increasing apoplectic responses to the notion of Bailey donning the RAB, anybody who thinks he wouldn't be a great addition, is deluded on a number of levels.
Sport is partially about the theatre and drama of good guys and bad guys. Bailey happens to be "the bad guy" a role he fulfills superbly. Similarly his disciplinary record is far far better than most of our forwards.
As a kid, I used to "dislike" the Hulme brothers, Les Boyd, Ronnie Gibbs, Kurt Sorenson, Steve Roach, Steve Mortimer, Tea Ropati, Shane Cooper et al. But they were still bloody good players. Bailey, similarly falls into the nasty but very effective role.
4 Grand Final winners medals aren't won by accident.

Seen as you obviously miss things, I think you would be more suited to the job of Super League referee.
He is a cheap shot merchant and as I say he is not someone I would welcome at the club, just my opinion of course.

And herein a prime example of a typical ted response.
Name instances of these cheap shots that you are privvy to and the referees aren't?
Would I like somebody in our side to do the same even if it was the case? Yes. Jimmy Lowes, Fairbank, Bradley et al were hardly paragons of virtue.
Average player? With 4 Grand Final winners medals. More than most of our team put together. (Diskin doesn't count clearly given he was also ex Leeds)
If he joined the club, I would be impressed. If you base your loyalty and ressonance on following the club around your ill conceived theatrical adjudication of player roles, then maybe you should sod off somewhere else.
Just my opinion of course

Don't spend it all at once, mind...'"

Ah so you're one of them, when your opinion is not the same as someone elses they automatically become a '' as you put it. I won't stoop to your level even though I disagree with you.
Dirty antics aside I don't agree that he 'falls into the nasty but very effective role', I find him the opposite and more often than not he goes missing when needed, I just find him 'nasty'.

| Quote Sensei-Bull="Sensei-Bull"We're really having to scrape the barrel to find players to improve our squad if its come down to wanting Bailey. Hope he doesn't come to Bradford. Don't like or rate the guy. If he's the best available signing out there then so be it, but l'd like to think we could set the bar a little higher than him.'"
Why is it barrel scraping? Define
Why don't you rate him? Are you privy to insider knowledge that Tony Smith, Brian McClennan, Brian Noble and Brian Mac haven't been - given they have all selected him repeatedly at varying levels?
And who would you like to see instead, on a likely similar modest wage, with medals in the cupboard, rep jerseys in the locker, grand final rings on ebay and genuine animal?
Yes that's right, you can't name many.
Get over the demonised sportsman model. Rather a nasty winner than a friendly loser.

It might be in bad taste but Terry Newton was the dirtiest player in SL. But also world class at his peak & just what hookers used to be like. He wouldn't have lasted long with the likes of Tony Fisher, mind. Were you of the same opinion when Terry joined? 99% of Bailey's reputation is rubbish.

I wasn't a fan of Terry as a player (RIP), I found him a niggly and also a dirty player, he also tended to go missing when the pack really needed to stand firm.

Learned coaches, fans, winners medals, opponents and statistics would contradict that ill founded view. However feel free to opine terrace trash in the face of strong contrary evidence.
To bring Terry Newton into this debate further rubbishes your ludicrous, unfounded standpoint.
